Video Transcript for In-Depth Review of the Taylor Made Marine Gas Strut for Boat Hatches-3691870-120

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at this Taylor Made Marine Grade Gas Strut. This is going to replace a worn out or damaged strut on your boat's hatch. It will do the same thing as the original, helping you to lift up your hatch lid and preventing it from slamming shut, which can obviously cause damage to your equipment and potentially injury to yourself if your hands in the way. This will make sure that you have a nice, smooth, soft, close and easy open. This is a ball and socket option.

So it's going to attach to your 10 millimeter ball stud on your boat's hatch. This is constructed of a heat treated steel. So it's going to be very durable for you. It also has a corrosion resistant coating. That's going to help prevent rusting even if you're using this in a saltwater environment.

So as I said, we do have the 10 millimeter ball sockets on each end. From the center of one to the center of the other. We're right about 26 and a quarter of an inch in total length there. This does have a compression force of 120 pounds. So it's going to be very strong, a great option for you.

Those ball sockets do twist off. So we can move those if we need to. To get this installed very easily, snap that onto our 10 millimeter ball stud. So depending on the orientation and whatnot, we've got that option as well on both ends. So if you are needing a replacement for your gas strut on your boat's hatch, make sure whether you're wanting to do an exact replacement.

This is the 120 pound option. If you're wanting to do an upgrade maybe you need a little bit more support, something like that. Make sure you're getting the right weight capacity and length for you. So that's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
