Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a quick look at the JR Products Hook and Keeper for enclosed trailers. Now this is just a set to help you keep your door open on your enclosed trailer, especially if you're loading things in and out or maybe just coming in and going inside that enclosed trailer. You don't want to worry about having to open that door every time or have it come closed on you in a high wind and things like that. It's just going to be a wand and then a receiver portion. So as the door opens, it's going to catch that little wand and keep that in place.
Now this arm measures 6 inches long. There are several different configurations available here at etrailer.com. If you want to check those out, please do. This also comes with a bumper to help keep our door protected from banging into our receiver here. It's just going to help keep that spaced out a little bit further. This comes with it.
There are, as I mentioned, several others that have different lengths and there will be some others that have the bumper with them as well. This comes with all the hardware that you need to get it installed, including two extra long screws for that bumper since it does sit a little bit taller than our other ones. Typically you're going to be mounting this on one side of either your receiver or the base. The receiver is the part that the wand slides into the wand here and then the base is the part that the wand lives on. We'll also have the screws to mount each of those pieces in place, so pretty much everything you need to get this in place.
As far as our measurements, each of these is about the same size, just under 3 inches long, maybe 2 15/16 inches. And then just about 1 3/4 inches wide, and about 3/4 of an inch tall. For our other side, it's about the same thing, 3 inches by 1 3/4 inches. Then for the height, it is a little bit different. Now this is about just a 1/2 inch. The wand does kind of skew up a little bit.
Doesn't quite want to lay flat, although it is a little bendy. So it's just made out of plastic. It's not anything super rigid so it will lay flat most likely if you give a little encouragement. That wand again, measures about 6 inches long. Our bumper is about 1 1/4 inch long or tall by about 1 3/4 inches wide and about 5/8 inch thick. The distance between the mounting holes is about 1 inch, which matches up with the short side of our brackets. They're about 1 inch between those mounting holes center to center. Then going the other direction it's about 2 3/16 inches. So just under 2 1/4 inches between those mounting holes going a long way. This is backed by a lifetime warranty from JR Products and that's pretty much going to do it for our look at the Hook and Keeper for enclosed trailers. Again, if you want to find any of those other parts that I mentioned, you can always look around here at eachother.com to find any options to fit your needs. Thanks for watching.
