Note: Always replace your struts in pairs, where applicable. Most hoods have a strut on each side. Failure to replace both struts can result in a warped or damaged hinge.
Gas Strut with Exceptional Stability
Most gas struts consist of a tube filled with pressurized nitrogen gas, a piston, and rod. The Atlas Lift strut, however, has a dynamic damping groove inside the tube that regulates gas movement across the piston. This ensures your hood stays open when you want it open and shuts slowly without slamming. Lastly, in contrast to struts that only have gas in the chamber, a few drops of oil have been mixed in to help seal the piston and lubricate the rod. This allows your hood to move more smoothly as the rod travels in and out of the tube.

Hi, everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at a Replacement Gas Strut for the hood. Now, folks, this is a custom fit for a 2005 to 2011 Cadillac STS Sedan, and this is gonna replace quantity one of a worn out or damaged strut on your vehicle's hood. Now, we do recommend always replacing these in pairs because if one's already worn out, the other one's probably not too far behind, and you don't want to get stuff in a bind and things like that. Now, this does have a dampening groove built into it inside of the tube, and that's gonna help prevent bouncing, and then you're gonna get a smooth operation from that no matter what the temperature is outside. Now, this is a black powder-coated steel tube and then you have a nitrate-coated rod.
Both of these are rust-resistant, and they're gonna work together seamlessly. There is an internal wiper inside of here that's gonna reduce sticking and it's gonna reduce friction by lubricating the rod with oil. And this is a ball socket style, so you have a hole over here, or a socket rather, and one on this end. Now, the way you measure these, when this is extended like it is now, I got 27 inches from the center of the socket hole to the center of the socket hole. And this is a quick, tool-free installation.
You just simply snap it directly onto the vehicle's ball socket or ball on the hood. And that's gonna wrap up our quick look together, folks. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.

Good product
I had problems finding the right size for my Ram due to the model year. These gas struts were perfect and they are still on the job. I also put a pair on my Ford F250. I highly recommend them.
The hood struts fit perfectly, work great after a year of use and the ordering and shipping process was a breeze.
product fits great, looks good, great buy price was right. Have not had long enough to rate for quality.
thank you Rob
I like it.
The price was very reasonable compared to OEM, and if they hold up they will well deserve the 5 STARS. Easy for a one person install once I figured out removal and discarding of the original strut fasteners was required. Fortunately, the fastening hardware supplied with these replacements were the same size.
excellent product I could tell the difference once I put them on!
Fast shipping and excellent packing
outstanding customer service
