Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the gas strut. This can be used in a lot of different applications, whether it's on your boat to lift up your hatch or another compartment or on your RV to lift up any kind of storage compartment or basement compartment. This helps to hold that door open or that lid or compartment open so that you can get in there, get your equipment or your luggage, or do any kind of maintenance without that door constantly coming down on you or you having to hold it up with one hand so it makes life a little bit easier to have that working.Maybe your original strut got bent somewhere along the way or it's just not lifting like it should so hence needing to replace it. This particular gas strut is going to measure 28 inches long and it has a force of 30 pounds. So let's take a little closer look at it. We have our two ends that are going to be 13 millimeter ball sockets, you can kind of see that there.
If we go from one to the other, that's going to give us the measurement of 28 inches if we go center to center. So it might be kind of hard for you guys to see that there, but it does measure out 28 inches long.Again, that socket is a 13 millimeter ball socket, both ends are threaded. So you can dial in the length a little bit as needed and also adjust the angle for those sockets to get it where you need it to be for your particular application. It is made out of a heat treated steel so it's going to be nice and durable. Shouldn't have too much issues with that and it also has a corrosion resistant coating so it's going to be great for even Marine applications where you're encountering saltwater, and also for a road safety or road salt resistance will be able to resist any kind of corrosion from that as well. That's pretty much all there is to it for our look at this gas strut from TaylorMade.
I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right one for you. We do have other options available here at etrailer.com so check them out if that's something that's going to fit your needs better. Thanks for watching, we'll see you next time..
