The 4Runner will be used for Fall surf fishing so I bought this front hitch receiver. The fit was perfect. Excellent product and etrailer's sales and customer service were great. Shipping was smooth and timely.
Solid product. I could not get a straight answer from etrailer or other retailers on whether this fits the TRD 4Runner model. So I went straight to Curt, and the agent said it fits all models.
That person was wrong. ??. I ended up having to modify my TRD skid plate to fit it. So the answer is "no it does not fit a 2016 4Runner TRD unless you cut the skid plate."
Anyway, I did that and I also have an "Undercover Hidden Winch Mount" which uses the two main mounting points, and I had to cut and grind that, so my installation took a couple days.
Anyway it's on and it seems bomb proof. Next step is to install a snow plow. We'll see how that goes!

This is the second hitch for my Toyota 4runner The first one you sent me was wrong. The box came in with had holes in it. Today I received the correct hitch. I’m assuming the correct hitch I haven’t had it installed yet I hope it’s the right one, but it came in the box, and it was all tore up. both ends of the hitch are sticking out of the box of the new one I just received. That’s pretty much the same condition that I got the other one. I’ve ordered hitches parts from you for years never have I never gotten product that was sticking out of the box. Unacceptable. I just hope it fits.

Product works perfectly
2022 TRD Pro fits snugly.
To keep the OEM skid plate, you can remove the skid plate’s 2x front spacers and spacer washer locks. Removing this will allow you to fasten the front 2x M10 oem bolts. The 2x rear M10 bolts will need to be replaced with 2x smaller length M10 bolts that are at half the size of the oem bolts. My local hardware store had plenty of options.
Great fit. Professionally installed. Used for Snow sport snowplow on 4runner. No issue. Very effective
Extremely tight fit. Otherwise solid at tachment.
The Curt front receiver hitch was very well made: good welds and plenty of powdercoat. On my 2016 4Runner Trail edition it fit fine but required 2 people to manipulate it into position. Some of the bolts were tough to get at, but was doable with effort. I was worried it might interfere with the skid plate but I think it will be OK, however the plastic air deflector might be hard to remove.
Etrailer shipped fast and no problems. They even answered a question, which Curt customer service did not.
This front hitch is a perfect fit for my 4Runner. It was easy to install.
Solidly built, and relatively easy to install. I have a fishing rod/cooler rack mounted on my 4Runner year round, with a 65quart Yeti cooler and often 40-50 lbs of ice, beer, fish and bait, and the receiver is still as solid as the day I installed it.
Product was received sooner than expected and in excellent condition. The product is very well made and installation instructions are simple and straight forward. I would recommend Etrailer to anyone.
Disappointed about the front mount hitch that I got when I open the box it had several deep scratches in it, and I was missing one of the round hole spacer, and the other one that was in there was never in the package and it wasn’t even painted. I just got the new painted round hole spacers delivered to me today. I do have to say that the customer service was excellent. They were very friendly and kind and helped me out in every which way. Thank you.

Hey Robert, I edited the bad word out of your review! We don't say the "A" word around here haha. That Revenge Hitch Mount cargo carrier with Rod Holder is great idea but we don't carry anything like that. I did go through the cargo carriers and some of our "clamp on" rod holders but I wasn't able to confidently piece anything together to even recommend a fabrication. I will be passing this idea on to our engineering team thanks to your review! Let me know if I can do anything else for you! We are here.
