Secure, Interlocking Two-Piece Jaw

A20 Two-Piece Interlocking JawA20 Two-Piece Interlocking Jaw

Unlike slide-bar models, the rounded, interlocking, two-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Three-Point Indicator System

A20 Color Indicator System

Get peace of mind with Curt's color-coded lock indicator. Just look at the indicator - either the one on the handle or the one on the hitch itself - to determine whether the jaw is in the correct position to uncouple (red), couple (yellow) or tow (green).

Ive been using this fifth wheel set up for about 5 months now and I don't have any complaints. I pull a 2022 Heartland Cyclone 4006 toyhauler fifth wheel. Loaded down its usually weighing between 18 to 20,000 lbs depending on what we are hauling.

Easy to order from etrailer with fast shipping. Ordered on Mon estimated delivery on Fri but came in only 2 days for a deliver Wed. Curt A25 hitch packaged very well good instruction easy assembly on tailgate filling installed and torqued in less that 30 mins.

by:

Ordering from etrailer was a great decision! I got a confirmation email for my order within minutes and an email it had shipped in just a few hours. I was given an expected delivery date and it actually showed up a day early. I’m super impressed with the customer service! I bought a fifth wheel hitch and found an [online] video for my truck and hitch that was extremely helpful, especially since all the RV dealers in the area were two months out to install it. All in all dealing with etrailer has been a great experience and I will definitely be going back for any of my other RV needs!

by:

The hitch has worked well for us . I wish it would go up 2 inches higher as it is close to the box have not had any problems though

by:

It is well built. Directions could have better illustrations. Putting handle together was the most difficult part of process. It dropped right into my existing rails. Have not hooked my fifth wheel yet, but very satisfied with the finished product.

by:

I could not be happier. It's solid, no sway while towing and no banging when I hit the brakes. Great product and I would highly recommend it!

by:

The hitch arrived as promised and in perfect condition. Couldn’t ask for better customer service. Looking forward to towing with the Curt A25.
I’ll amend this review after I tire with it. Super happy with etrailer!!

Packing was horrible. Smaller box inside a bigger box just bouncing around that created a big hole. All the bolts and nuts came free from packaging and were all over. Not to mention the ones that got lost.

I will send your information to our customer service team and they will be able to get you the pieces you are missing! Thank you for letting us know.

by:

Great customer service, thanks for the help…

by:

It was poor delivered and packaged. I don’t even know if all the parts are in there yet till tomorrow. There was a huge hole delivered and they even tried to patch up the box. SMH

Took me a month, but I finally got the Curt A25 fifth wheel hitch in my truck and took it for nearly 150 mile trip to see how it would work. My wife and I both were amazed at how quiet and the bouncing, snapping, popping and cussing were all gone. This hitch is absolutely amazing. Before, when I just pulled out of my driveway, the old fifth wheel would snap and pop loudly several times. It was so quiet with the Curt A25 (new one), both of us looked at each other and looked back to see if the trailer was moving with us. (It was) Thank you to Curt for building it so well and to all of the people at etrailer that recommended it and ensuring it was all right.

My 5th wheel package was robbed during shipping.
When
I received it, the box had obviously been opened and then taped shut.
When I opened it, the base of the 5th wheel hitch was gone!
I called etrailer's customer support and they were amazing.
I sent pictures of the package I took before and after I opened the package.
The customer support rep said that was all I needed to do.
And they shipped a new base two days later.
I just received the base of the hitch.
I am extremely happy that etrailer's customer support was so responsive when I had a serious problem!
Thank you etrailer customer support!

Had a Pullrite Superglide in my old F350 standard bed but when I upgraded to the 8ft bed of the dually, I went with this hitch. Hitch came in 2 boxes and although the boxes worked banged up a bit, everything was there and fine. It only took about 30 minutes to bolt everything together and install on the rails that were already in the truck. I actually had to take the hitch apart once to adjust the hitch up a little. I wanted it as high as possible in the bed, while still clearing the Roll N Lock retractable bed cover. Looks good, seems solid and well made. Hitch head comes off to make it easier to remove this hitch, but even with the head connected, I am able to move the hitch in the truck (would need to take head off for me to lift the hitch out of the truck). Also installed a BedRug at the same time to clean up the bed.

Curt A25 fifth wheel hitch... received in record time ,box was damaged and the pull arm was bent. Called Etrailer and they sent me another pull arm immediately. Great customer service, will continue to do business here. Thanks Molly and George

by:

Packaging was tore up, expected that. The head had been dropped and bent the engagement handle. I peened it back to straight to get the black handle back on and moveable. otherwise no issue with the product so far.

I apologize for the handle being bent. I am glad that you got it bent back in place and it is working out fine for you!

by:

Great Hitch. I haven't used it to pull yet but it's heavier and seems more sturdy than the Reese I replaced. I also like the interlocking jaws. Many time hitching with the reese I'd have to use a flashlight to see that the jaws were closed but not any more. I'll update once I pull the camper with it.

by:

The only thing I wish I got was a sliding hitch as it would have been a bit easier to hitch as a perfectly straight hitch I have only a inch to spare before my tailgate hits the bulkhead. So being that I have to close the tailgate before I am totally hitched into the kingpin

by:

Worked perfect! Just installed it this Evening test it later this week! Thanks again etrailer!

by:

etrailer sells high quality Curt products. I order Curt products from etrailer and all reasonably price, process works great, online order through physical final delivery,

by:

Arrived in great shape, easy to install. Can't wait to give it a try. Looks well built and easy to use. The release handle is just in a different position than my old 20K Reese so will be a little more of a reach to get to the lock pin.

by:

This fifth wheel is very noisy and a loose connection. I would not recommend it.

by:

I have pulled a 16,000 lbs 5th wheel over 13,000 miles with this hitch and no issues. It arrived with the package damaged and the handle bent. Etrailer quickly replaced the part. The base will rust if not covered. If you remain hooked up for an over night stay, you will need to lower your jacks to stabilize and prevent rocking do to the hitch’s design. Great product.

by:

Purchased the Curt 25 A. 25,000 lb capacity with articulating head. I pull an 18,000 lb 5th wheel camper with a 3500 diesel dually. There is lots of movement when braking and start of pull after a full and normal stop. I would not buy the articulating model again. The product seems to be well built just too much front to rear movement in the head.

by:

It’s held up great. No slack in the kingpin jaws or anywhere else. All the products bought work just the way they were advertised.

John

I’ve pulled my fifth wheel a little over 10,000 miles and still works great. No problems with any of it.

by:

I am very pleased with my purchase from etrailer. The 25,000 pound hitch and hardware was shipped promptly and received from UPS in good condition.
Thanks, etrailer!

  • Fitting A New 5th Wheel Hitch On A Truck With Older Style Rails
I do have a solution that will allow you to keep the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Mounting Brackets # DM8552027 that are already installed on your vehicle. You will have to change your existing older style rails for universal rails that will fit newer style hitches. The Universal Above-Bed Base Rails for Demco # DM6071 will work great, as this will bolt up to your current brackets. For the 5th wheel hitch itself, I recommend either the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16120 or the...

  • Solution for Curt Q24 Fifth Wheel Hitch that is Difficult to Unlatch
Some hitches just are more finnicky than others when it comes to releasing the jaws. You've done everything right by keeping the hitch and jaws maintained and lubricated so there's nothing that's going to make your hitch easier to unlatch other than making sure the trailer is totally level and straight like you already have mentioned. Curt recently redesigned the Q series hitches with the A series like the A25 part # C16180 which was done to help with the jaw issues of the Q series. The...

Yes, in order to install a Curt Custom 5th Wheel Bracket Kit (or any other 5th wheel bracket kit) on your 2017 Ram 2500 your existing gooseneck hitch would need to be removed as both systems require the same mounting space on the frame rails. The correct Curt Rail Kit for your Ram is actually the part # C16427-204. The kit you were looking at is designed for earlier model years of the Ram 2500. The main difference between the Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16180 and the Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16265 is the hitch head. The head on the A25 is far superior to the head on the Q25 because it has an interlocking jaw system that grips the kingpin tightly so very minimal movement is allowed, it offers a one pin head removal system. The overall feel of the head is just much smoother on the A-Series when compared to the Q-Series. I have attached a photo to show...
