Question:

I have a bandw fifth wheel hitch in my 2015 GMC 3500hd truck the hitch is rated at 18000 gtw 4500 vtw sn. # 48803. My question is will a BWRVC3006 fit my base and if so will it increase the gtw to 25000. Thanks

There is a 5th wheel hitch with a 25,000 lb capacity you can use for your 2015 GMC Sierra 3500 long bed, though what you have now is a B&W Patriot, and the hitch head for the Companion is not compatible with that base. So the only option to add a 25,000 lb capacity 5th wheel to your truck, which I assume does have standard base rails such as the Curt # C16411-204, is to add a new 5th wheel hitch from Curt:

- Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16180

This hitch has the 25,000 lb capacity you are looking for, along with a 6,250 lb vertical weight capacity (essentially like tongue weight capacity) and would allow you to tow a heavier 5th wheel than your B&W hitch, which you could easily sell to offset some of the cost of the new hitch.
