Today, we're going to take a look at the Flex-a-Lite Auxiliary Engine Oil Cooler with the Sandwich Adapter. This part will help in reducing your engine oil temperatures to protect your engine, and extend the life of your oil. It improves overall functioning and performance of the engine, and it can help reduce oil temperatures by as much as 50 degrees. It cools effectively through the use of this tube finned core heat exchanger. The sandwich adapter right here in the kit will provide the external oil line that are necessary to install a cooler, without requiring you to move the factory spin on oil filter. In addition, right here, in side the sandwich adapter, is a thermostatic bypass feature. This allows oil that is cooler than 180 degrees, to bypass the heat exchanger so your engine will warm up faster.

It does include everything shown here on the table. It includes the 4 pass, meaning it goes through 4 times. Tube and finned cooler core. Has the brass tubing. On these ends, the inlets and outlets are 1/2 inch aluminum barb fittings.

The sandwich adapter, and the adapter plate with the 2, O rings. Also has the 2 1/2 barb x 3/8 inch hose adapter brass fittings, that screw right into there. It comes with a high temperature, high pressure, 10 foot of rubber hose with the stainless steel clamps for installing. It comes with the multiple sleeve nuts, right there, to ensure proper thread size to your engine. It comes with the mounting kit for other cooler, and a nice set of detailed instructions to show you how to install it. These parts are made in the USA. Now to go over a few specs on the heat exchanger, this portion right here.

The dimensions on this from the very end of this tube, to the end of this tube, put a ruler on this, tape measure. You can see it's right at 20 inches. The height from from the bottom to the very top is going to be right at 5 inches tall. The total depth of this is 3/4 of an inch. The distance between these two outlets here, center to center, is going to be right at 3 3/4 inches. The sandwich adapter, that's this portion here, this is the part that you will screw on until you remove your oil filter on your engine, and this would install in that place, and then your oil filter would go underneath here.

It does have the inlet and outlet ports, which are 3/8 inch NPT thread size. The O ring diameters is 2 1/2 inches and 3 3/8. The 2 1/2 inches would go on here, and if you need to use the adapter plate like this here, the larger O ring would go on there which is the 3 3/8 inch size O ring. The engine filter thread sizes, these parts right here. This will be once this is installed in there. These would go up there, and let's you extend your oil filter to screw on underneath there. It comes with 5 different sizes. It starts with the 3/4 inch x 16, the 13/16 x 16, and then the 18mm, the 20mm, and the 22mm. That will cover a wide range of different sizes on your filters and on your engine block. This kit is not for Chevrolet V8 engines, and sometimes the Acura and Honda engines may require that you use an after market oil filter to work.
