Hello neighbors, Steve here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Erickson ATV series winch with a wire rope roller fare lead, and all the included hardware and everything for install. So folks, this power sports ATV recovery winch is gonna be a great addition to your recreation or standard duty quad, maybe like a 350 to 700 cc utility quad, sport quads, those kind of things. It is recommended for a ATV with a max gross vehicle weight of 1500 pounds. Has a nice one horsepower permanent magnet motor that's gonna deliver powerful, fast, safe line pooling. And these kind of motors are lighter and use less current than the series one motors that are out there on the market.

It has been sealed, so it's gonna keep out water, prevent internal corrosion, and help it last longer. The seal connector or contactor is gonna transmit power from your vehicle's battery to the winch itself. Now this normally gets mounted under the ATV's front cover or hood with the included hardware. And all the hardware right here in the bag is given to you for mounting it. You've even got the holes underneath it to mount it.

Now this whole pattern is three inches on center this way, or four and seven eight inches that way. Now it does have a automatic mechanical break that's gonna hold 100% of the load while minimizing winch creep. It does use an all steel three stage planetary gear train, that's gonna provide the increased drum speed when compared to like a one or two stage model winch. Now the rocker remote here, that would get primarily installed up by your handle bars with this included bracket. Maybe you have a side by side or something that's small enough to use this on and you wanna put this on like the roll bar or something that's a possibility as well.

Now like most winches, it does come with a free spool option. So you simply twist the knob to the free spool option and then you can pull the line out freely. It does use a three 16th inch thick zinc plated wire rope and a 50 foot long rope. So that's three 16th diameter by 50 feet. It's an aircraft grade galvanized steel cable.

They include this nice quarter inch steel thick clevis with the nylon hand saver strap. That would get installed on there whenever you we inchesre I installing it for the first time. Now the whole outfit here has a clear corrosion resistant finish and it also gives you a nice fair lead here with rollers on all directions, so if you're pulling the rope out, sideways, up or down, nothing's gonna get hurt or pinched up or in a bind. Now some people have found they require a custom solution to mount the winch and the fairly to their ATVs. Just keep that in mind. You may have to do something like that as this is like a universal fit. Now everything again is that clear coat on it, but it's a nice black powder coat finish on everything. It's a 12 volt DC motor. The line speed's about three and a half feet per second, and the gear ratio is 171 to one. As far as the measurements overall from edge to edge, I basically went all the way out to the tip of this one side bolt. I got 11 and three quarter inches long by four and five 16th inches, I'm sorry, four and five 16th inches wide on that base there, and then about four inches tall overall. The whole winch is pretty light. With everything together, including the roller and everything, it was about 19.3 pounds. They recommended a battery size for max power of 650 coal cranking amps.
