Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2020 and newer Subaru Legacy vehicles, and on a custom fit part like this, I do recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this'll work for your application. Now, this kit will provide a 4-way flat trailer connector to the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It is compatible with the 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters that we do sell separate on our website. And this does connect very quickly and easily, all you have to do is locate your connection points, which are behind the tail lights, plug in these T-connectors, one on each side, one on the driver's side, one on the passenger's side, ground your white wire here, and then connect this power wire to the vehicle's battery.
Now, this does include this ModuLite tail light converter, and this is to ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer. It is a powered module, connects directly to the battery, and that's to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Now, this converter does use the surface mount technology for consistent reliable performance that'll help maximize your trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat, and it does ensure superior operation in any rough road conditions. We mentioned, it does come with the dust cover for your 4-way, so when you're not plugged into your trailer, you can just put that cover over there, and it'll protect those terminals from the elements and for any damage. Now, few specs on this harness, the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights is five amps per circuit, for the tail lights is 7.5 amps per circuit, and this does come with everything shown here on the table.
And then just briefly how this would install, what you'll wanna do is go to the rear of your vehicle, gain access behind the tail lights, and then you'll wanna start on the driver's side. Take this T-connector that has the yellow wire in it, that's for the driver's side, unplug your harness, plug this into it, and then go to the passenger side, take the other T-connector that has the green wire in it and the length of wire, run that over there, do the same, plug this into the harness behind the tail lights. Once those are both plugged in, you'll wanna a run this bonded wire out the back that the 4-way's attached to, and then this converter box has a little weight to it, so you do wanna attach that to a nice flat surface, so it doesn't bounce around. They do have a little tab here with a hole in it that you put a screw through, or they even give you some double faced tape that you can use to attach it down. And then your last two wires are your white wire and your black wire, the white wire has an eyelet on it, so that's designed to connect to a good clean ground if there's one nearby, if not, they do have a grounding screw that you can make your own ground, and then the last wire is your power wire.
Now, that wire will need to run to the front of the vehicle to the vehicle's battery, and you can do that by they give you this length of wire to use and then the connectors. So you'll take one of these butt connectors, put it on the power wire, connect it to one end of the length of wire, and then run that all the way up to the front. Now, when you get to the front, you don't wanna connect that directly to the battery, you wanna run it through this inline fuse holder. So take the other butt connector, connect it to one end of the fuse holder, just like that, on the other end, take your eyelet connector, and connect that, and then that'll connect to the battery. Once it's all connected, pop it open, take your included 15 amp fuse, slide it into the fuse holder, once you get it all the way in there, put your cap on there, and now your systems all ready to go.
If you noticed, they do give you some extra cable ties to take up any slack in this wiring, and it does include a nice set of instructions that'll describe how this all connects. But that should do it for the review on this T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector..
Didn't work as well as I thought it would but with some adjustments was functional.
