We got this hitch and wiring harness for our '12 Toyota Prius V to pull a small aluminum Kayak trailer and for hauling bikes . The hitch was super easy to install (had my daughter help) and the wiring harness was a piece of cake. I was done with both installations in under an hour without rushing. The ground clearance for the hitch is good and has a nice low profile, it actually doesn't look out of place on the vehicle.

This was super-easy to install in my 2016 PriusV! No wire cutting, very few panels needed to be gently coaxed into a new position momentarily, and while installing I even discovered a bung in the bottom of the spare tire well that allowed me to route the wiring outside the car via an inconspicuous route.

Well darn the luck...It sounds like something is going on with the 10 amp inline fuse to the battery terminal. Make sure the ring terminal on the red wire of the fuse has a good connection with the battery post, tightened down with the nut. It is a good idea to make sure the fuse is pressed securely into the fuse holder otherwise it's not protecting the battery.     If you wanted to add a reverse light circuit to the part # C56156 you would also need the part # 20036. The blue wire of this would run to the reverse light circuit of your Prius v which would give you the fifth circuit active for back up lights. Aside from that the 4-way would just plug right into this adapter.
