The 4-flat trailer connector gives you the standard running light, brake light, and turn signal functions most small and mid-size trailers use. It’s a straightforward setup that keeps your trailer lights working properly without extra wiring or complicated installs.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this CURT T-Connector vehicle wiring harness with the four-way flat trailer connector. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2000 to 2004 Nissan Xterra with the factory tow package. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now, this part here provides a four-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights.
It is compatible with five pole, six pole, and seven pole adapters that we do sell separately. And this does connect very quickly and easily. There's no cutting or splicing of wires. All you have to do is locate your connection point, which will be under the vehicle behind the rear bumper on the passenger side, and then plug in the connector right here to that connector. Does come with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how to plug this in and where your connector's located.
If you notice, it does come with some extra cable ties to take up any slack in the wiring length, and it even comes with a nice dust cover for the four-way. So basically you can just attach this to the four-way and you can leave it on there if you prefer. And then when you're not plugged into a trailer, just put that over the terminals and it'll protect that four-way from any damage or from the elements. Three specs on this. The maximum amperage for the stop and turn light circuits is three amps per circuit.

Great. I wrapped the wiring around the arm which supports the bumper so that it doesn’t drag or anything. I use it about once every 3 months and it has never let me down

I have wired trucks for trailer connectors from scratch, and Ive also used plug and play connectors. This is one of the easiest wiring connectors that Ive installed. The hardest part was actually removing the factory connector cover. I always use dielectric grease on all of my wiring connections, and I would recommend using it on all plug in wiring connections. I will be adding an electric brake controller to my Xterra and this connector will allow me to plug into the 7 pin connector and only run a few wires for the electric brakes. I have been very pleased with the wiring connector.
