Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located behind the rear bumper, on the passenger's side.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this CURT T-Connector vehicle wiring harness with the four-way flat trailer connector. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2000 to 2004 Nissan Xterra with the factory tow package. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now, this part here provides a four-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights.
It is compatible with five pole, six pole, and seven pole adapters that we do sell separately. And this does connect very quickly and easily. There's no cutting or splicing of wires. All you have to do is locate your connection point, which will be under the vehicle behind the rear bumper on the passenger side, and then plug in the connector right here to that connector. Does come with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how to plug this in and where your connector's located.
If you notice, it does come with some extra cable ties to take up any slack in the wiring length, and it even comes with a nice dust cover for the four-way. So basically you can just attach this to the four-way and you can leave it on there if you prefer. And then when you're not plugged into a trailer, just put that over the terminals and it'll protect that four-way from any damage or from the elements. Three specs on this. The maximum amperage for the stop and turn light circuits is three amps per circuit.
For the taillights, it's six amps per circuit. But that should do it for the review on this CURT T-Connector vehicle wiring harness with the four-way trailer connector.

My nephew's 2002 xtera was NOT equipt with factory tow package but the proper plug receptacle was still in the rear lighting harness, so we got this adapter harness rather than wiring a generic adapter in with tape and solder. Worked PERFECT and literally took TWO MINUTES to install! Thanks for a well engineered and very reasonably priced harness!
I just installed the hitch and wiring today and it was so easy. I didn't have to drop the spare tire or take the exhaust pipe off. Hitch fit great.

Worked fine. Since it is for a Nissan Xterra installation was easy. A suggestion if I may. Include or offer the split plastic armor with it as to protect the wiring from chafing and wearing through the insulation. Nice add on sale.

I added a plastic sheath to the wires to keep them from getting cut or banged up. Other than that, this product is fine.

Great. I wrapped the wiring around the arm which supports the bumper so that it doesn’t drag or anything. I use it about once every 3 months and it has never let me down

Excellent
