Review from a similar JT Strong Arm in Camper Jacks
Absolutely love the JT Strong Arms. I get asked about them all the time on our 2016 Jayco 267BHSW. I give them a quick demo with the t-handles loose and with them tightened, virtually no shaking at all any more. The only movement I have is still in the axles/suspension, I can eliminate that further with jacks in front/behind of the wheels, but I'm ok with that little movement for now. 293862

Every time we camped the Jayco T30F toy hauler seemed to move or sway when walking around in it. Laying in bed the dogs would get a drink and they would layi down which made the trailer feel like it moving or swaying. It felt like I was motion sickness from moving. I ordered the StrongArms after that camping trip. I installed the Strong Arms just before the camp out the following week. It was great no movement. Rock solid like having a foundation under the camper. What a night and day difference. I will install them on any future camper. We like to show off how stable the camper. A must for all campers! 635011
Review from a similar JT Strong Arm in Camper Jacks
First, let me say the service I received from etrailer was superb. Now that’s out of the way, the very mixed reviews on the JT’s Strong Arm product is very deserved. I have not gotten to use them yet so I am just commenting on the installation. I’m not the best mechanic in the world but was trained by USAF as an auto mechanic at the end of the Vietnam conflict so I do have some experience. The directions are nearly useless, frankly. I would rather have had them tell me in general terms how they operate and let me figure it out on my own. Once I put away the instruction sheet they were easy to install. One tip I’m glad I read in reviews, and not mentioned in the instructions, watch where your electrical and gas lines route along the inside (sometimes hidden) part of I-beams and C-channel. Yes, you should always do that when drilling, but when frustration from reading bad directions gets in the mix it’s even more important. That one tip saved me time, money and possibly injury. The “self-tapping” bolts did not self-tap, either. I tried running them in by hand and with a cordless 1/4” impact. Both times the self-tapping just stripped threads off which meant I had to go buy more ny-lock nuts. I got a good education on how scissor jacks are made, too. Not from the instructions, but from a mistake I made putting in the swing bolts and letting the center piece of the jack “gearbox” come loose. That could come in handy in the future. I also read that someone ruined a scissor jack trying to move the jack up or down with the Strong Arm T-handle tightened. I am capable of learning from other’s mistakes so I am putting 3/4” silicone vacuum hose caps over my jack so I can’t run them up or down without first checking the T-handle. That should be included in the kit IMHO. The T-handle should also have a tether since it does not have any kind of thread-lock to keep them from working loose as you drive down the road if you don’t re-tighten them in the stored/up position. I will update my review when I have a chance to use them. 802846

These do a great job of taking the majority of the "wobble" out of the chassis when setup but they don't take all of it away. They are a big improvement over just having the stabilizers. Installation wasn't as easy I would like. I had to fabricate some cross supports and I went through a few drill bits making it all happen but it's in there for good at this point. 568690

These are great and made our small 5th wheel rock solid, I mean night and day compared to just landing gear and rear stabilizers. I did have to do some minor fabrication for both the front and the rear. The front was due to the spare tire being mounted under the front of our rig. Also the instructions really suck as do most Lippert components instructions. Way too many words that don't really seem to be coherent, seems like just a few words and some good quality pictures would be more helpful. 777228

The JT Strong Arm kit is a well designed package for installing stabilizers on the front jacks of a 5th wheel. You will need additional hardware and probably need to fabricate an additional cross brace to install the stabilizers on the rear jacks. Installing just the front stabilizers makes a huge improvement in trailer movement making me wonder why the hardware for the rear is not sold as a separate kit which would reduce the price. The installation instructions provided with the package are poorly organized and written and make installation appear more difficult than it really is. On-line videos and other information are more helpful than the instructions with the kit. The kit was supposed to include 3/8"-16 flanged self tapping bolts incorporating cutting grooves. The actual bolts provided were plain bolts without cutting grooves. So after drilling the 5/16" tap drill size for 3/8"-16 bolts in the longitudinal I-beam I attempted to tap the holes. Unfortunately the starter tap broke in torsion on the first hole. Fortunately on my trailer there was access (very limited) to above the I-beam flange so I drilled 3/8" holes and used nuts instead of tapping the I-beam flange. If you choose this approach shift the spacer mount position outward away from the I-beam vertical member by the spacer mount material thickness so the nut does not bear on the corner radius. If you must tap the I-beam flange because there is no access above the flange to install a nut, consider increasing the hole size to be tapped by 1/64 (21/64) understanding this will slightly reduce the thread load capacity. But these threads are not highly loaded. Something to be careful of is the location of the gas line under the trailer. Whatever installation method is used be sure there will be adequate clearance for the stabilizer bar to the gas line when in the fully up position. Overall a very good kit that I would purchase again. You could fabricate the same kit yourself but the end result would probably not be as well constructed unless you have a machine shop. 438529

This is a great for stabilizing a 5th wheel!! Way more affective than a tripod! Easy install for anybody that had a drill and good drill bits!! 542386

The JT Strongarms have nice thick finish to guard against rust, the install was easy and our 30' fifth wheel is really stable now, feels solid. Worth every penny. 610966

I researched many ways to take the sway out of our camper and this made the most sense. The video associated with it really peaked my interest, so I bought the set. Once installed, I was amazed!! I’ve recommended them to several friends and coworkers and the ones that bought and installed were impressed and have been passing it forward as well. Great product and I’m heavy skeptic. 936998

The product is awesome, lots of great hardware and installation options. Thanks for keeping the cost down by offering optional mounting styles to those that need them vs putting them in every kit. Installation directions are worse than most offshore furniture assembly directions. I was missing one of the smaller diameter tubes in my box and etrailer got this taken care of very rapidly! The stability improvement to my 5th wheel is simply amazing! 910154

Delivery was prompt and accurate; the stabilizer was double boxed and arrived in tact. I have only installed it and tested it out at home; so far it seems to do what it advertised. The components seem to be high quality and well made. If you have any mechanical ability, installation is easy and straight forward; the instructions give dimensions and a few photos. If your camper is like mine (having 3/4” wide cross brackets) you may want to fabricate a wider bracket to bolt the included 1.5” center brackets to on the front and back. I did this by bolting 2.5” angle iron to the cross beams on the camper. 909251

Review from a similar JT Strong Arm in Camper Jacks
I just installed this on my Jayco 33 ft. fifth wheel. It was huge improvement, as now it feels like walking through a house. If you can make sense of the instructions that come with the package, you are better than me. You Tube videos were a huge help. Installation for the back stabilizer was hard as I didn't order the extender product that was available (I should have got these), so I repurposed extra mounting tabs that came with the package, and welded the extra tabs on the rear mounting feet. There was not a easy access to a cross member on the rear, so I used the rear bumper. I put the nuts into the rear bumper (4" square tubing) on the end of a wrench attached to a long pipe. It was time consuming but the install was worth it. 826269

I installed these on my 2018 Reflection fifth wheel with auto leveling jacks. Instructions are not very clear for rear jacks due to all the different configurations out there. I wish the instructions had more pictures too. On the rear hydraulic jack pads I used the adapter lugs P/N 314592 which meant I needed 2 more swing bolts than what came with the kit. I called Lippert and they sent me 2 more. After everything was installed the rig was solid as could be. Very happy I bought these I really enjoy ordering from you. 778142

Stabilize my 5th wheel very well. Takes alot of the rockin out, unless you want it to rock. Lol I have 6 point hydraulic auto levelers and u have to get lug adapters, they don't tell u to paint them so they rusted bad. Paint before installing. 723361

Good quality product. The install was fairly easy. It did a nice job of tightening up my fifth wheel. A year later, they still look and work like new. 705144

I installed the struts as directed on the front of my 28ft 5th wheel toy hauler. I also, installed the remaining two struts to my two scissor jacks that are mounted to the frame in front of the front wheel. I'm not completely satisfied with the product. I still have a very noticeable shaking of the trailer when walking inside or climbing up the three steps into the trailer. 682452
