It doesn’t fit a 2018 ram 1500 4wd with a hemi. You don’t have enough room to run the rubber lines without kinking them
I purchased this kit to stop the oil mess on the steering rack and cross member of my 2013 RAM 1500 Hemi. I have purchased this brand before for other trucks I've owned and am impressed with the quality and thoroughness of the kit. The install went smoothly and the instructions were clear. I would definitely buy again if I ever get a different truck.

Still very happy with it.
My husband installed this on my 2016 Ram 1500 Laramie (5.7L Hemi) this weekend because he said he wasn't going to spend the next 10 years having oil go all over the place every time he changed the oil filter. So far he's very pleased with the product. He said it seemed like the parts were good quality. We plan on keeping an eye on it, since it's not specific for the 5.7L Hemi, but we've seen on various forums that other Ram owners were having good luck with this product. There was another product on the market that I saw mentioned on forums, but when we compared the Derale to the other brand, my husband said he thought this one came with more parts and better features.
I absolutely love this. The stock filter is very small for a V8, looks like something out of a 4 cylinder and is a pain to get to in the stock location and spills oil. With this, I can run a full size filter with more oil capacity, filtration, oil temp stays cooler. Hardest part of installation was drilling into the frame and buying some longer bolts but otherwise very straight forward. Be sure the IN port goes to the OUT port. It’s held up well after 2 changes so far, and is so much easier to do. It’s a must have!
Well, the only thing Im leary about is the circlip that holds the female nut inside the housing when its mated with the engine block. Looks kinda flimsy, bolt is loose within its hold. Hopefully, 60 psi flow rate will not blow the nut off.

Thank you for your review. I contacted Derale for you. The female adapter inside the spin on adapter is not a tight fit as the clip hold sit in place and when it is tightened down the slack is removed. The unit is designed to be that way.
easy to install. Could have better fittings with 90 degree turns coming of the engine adapter. Other than that great product to eliminate an oil mess from changing your oil.

Thanks for the feedback, I can definitely understand how frustrating that would be. What you’re describing with the kinking lines is something we’ve seen on certain truck setups, especially where space is tighter around the oil filter location. Even though the kit is designed to be more universal, routing can get tricky depending on engine bay layout. That Ram with the HEMI is a pretty tight fit in that area, so you’re not alone in running into that issue. Sometimes using different hose routing or fittings can help, but in some cases it just doesn’t leave enough room to do it cleanly without risking a kink. Really appreciate you calling that out, that kind of real-world fitment feedback helps a lot for others with the same setup. Were you able to return this?
