Not as advertised pictured. There was no brass looking outlet bolt plug, was informed by my mechanic after install that the kit did not match other Derale drain plugs he has installed in the past. There was only a threaded allen wrench plug with no stop lippage. The kit did not even supply the allen wrench. Maybe this was an older model, do not know??? very dissatisfied. Buyers beware!
I installed this in my 2003 dodge caravan 3.3liter, for monitoring tranny temp while towing. It's a simple and cheap way to add a transmission temp gauge. Has worked well for a year with no leaks. Be very careful where you drill the hole in the transmission pan, to make sure there is adequate clearance inside the transmission for the bolt head! (Design would be improved greatly with thinner metal there).
A good product, overall.
I used this to install a transmission temperature sensor for a Dodge Caravan. I am very happy with the results. No leaks 6 months later and was easy to install. Could be better two ways:the parts that goes inside the transmission should be machined like a bolt head with a hole in it, and both nuts should be lock nut type, my concern being future leaks. Be careful where you drill the hole in your transmission pan, make sure there in enough clearance between the parts and the transmission!
It appears to be well made. Having it installed thid coming week. Hope all goes well so I will be able to drain my transmission fluid on a regurlar basis without removing the pan.
Great product ... better price
