Features to know about

Stable Handling for Long Trips: Frame-Mounted Security

These front tie-downs mount directly to your truck’s frame so your camper stays locked in place mile after mile. By securing to the strongest part of your vehicle, they distribute weight evenly and lower the center of gravity. That means less sway from crosswinds, better handling on rough roads, and a ride that feels solid and predictable no matter how far you travel.

Clean Look When Not in Use: Removable Arms

You don’t have to live with bulky hardware hanging off your truck. The arms slide out of the frame brackets when you’re not hauling, leaving only low-profile mounts tucked under the body. With them removed, the brackets are barely noticeable, keeping your truck looking clean and uncluttered between trips.

Install Without Drilling: Custom-Fit Tie-Downs

These tie-downs bolt right onto existing holes in your frame so setup is simple and secure. There’s little to no drilling required, and no cutting or frame modification needed. Because they mount tight to the frame, you keep good ground clearance—no dragging or snagging when driving off-road or through uneven terrain.

Built Tough: Powder-Coated Steel Construction

Made from durable powder-coated steel, these tie-downs are built to handle years of heavy use and road exposure. The finish helps resist rust and corrosion through rain, snow, and salt so they stay strong and reliable season after season.

Easy Camper Connection: Adjustable Anchor Points

Each arm has two pin holes so you can extend it just enough to clear fenders or sidewalls while keeping tension right where it needs to be. Two anchor holes in the attachment plate let you fine-tune your setup for a solid hold at the perfect angle. Once tightened with turnbuckles (sold separately), your camper sits secure and steady for the long haul.

Video Transcript for An In-Depth Look at the TorkLift Front Frame Mount Tie Downs

Speaker 1: Today, we're going to be taking a look at TorkLift's line of custom frame mounted camper tie downs for the front. You want to verify here at etrailer.com using our fit guide, which ones work best for your vehicle. There are sets also available that will fit your vehicle available for the rear. These custom mounted brackets are going to provide an easy attachment point to hook up your camper. What's additionally great about those is that they have the removable ends. So when you're not using it, they'll be hidden away, and your vehicle will look like factory. The custom mounted brackets we're engineered to provide you with the best location for your tie down point to even distribute the load.

So, once they're attached, and adjusted. This'll keep your camper from being too top heavy. This'll increase the overall ride quality while you're campers attached, and the safety. It's made of a durable steel with a black powder coat finish, which'll ensure that you have a strong attachment point, and it'll be highly resistant to corrosion. When you are ready to use them, you can just slide in the attachment point. There's two points here to attach your turn buckles, and here on the shaft there are two points that will give you an adjustment inward, and outward, to specifically fit your camper.

So, you can use this hole for a wider camper, or this hole for an aero camper. Once you've got your appropriate hole, slide the pin through, and bring the latch over, and lock it in place. Then you can attach your turn buckles. Now if you need some turn buckles you can pick them up here at etrailer.com. There are many a different styles. From chain types, to quick attach lever types.

Our style is going to a be a threaded rod type that will hook to your camper, and down to our attachment point. We'll adjust it snug by turning our turn buckle here. With our passenger side done, we'll repeat that same step on our driver's side.Compared to stake pocket, our bumper mounted camper tie downs, frame mounted tie downs will provide better handling. They also mount out of sight, giving your truck a cleaner look, because the custom fit brackets secure tight against your trucks frame there is no loss of ground clearance. The correct tiedowns are really nice and installed pretty easy.

I bought the TLC2220 for a low profile pop up cabover camper which I had for another Chevy 3/4 ton truck. The prior truck utilized a different attachment but was not available for my current 2012 Chevy truck. The TLC220 offers an excellent attachment point that is made out of thick well made steel and covered with a nice black powder coating. The instructions that came with the product should be thrown away. Pictures are poor, verbiage is incomplete and large gaps in the actual application. The saving grace is the video from etrailer. This is a great video. Complete, simple with no gaps and tells you exactly what the difficulties might be. This video even called out the socket sizes. Unfortunately the mate to this; the TLC 3212 rear mounts has a poor video with again gaps in application. And... again the TLC3212 written instructions is just fireplace starter material.

The ribs that were welded down the center were off-line by about a quarter inch and required some copious filing to get them to fit

by:

4 stars, just cause of the written instructions. Could be clearer.

Product Review: F2016, 2012 Ford F250 extended cab 8' bed
I really like the Torklift front tiedowns. I didn't feel I had the skill to fab the front tiedowns. The rear however, are rather simple. 2 1/2" 1/4" wall square pipe slips inside the factory hitch receiver. I used 27" lengths. The factory Ford hitch receiver curves towards the rear axle. Drilled and tapped thru receiver and pipe to hold it. Happy with the quick service from etrailer.com!

Perfect fit for it's function every time. This was my second order and the instructions were clear and concise. Very solid build from the get go and no need to retorque.
I definitely recommend this company.
Even their customer service was outstanding.
Congratulations for your reliability.

The units appeared to be well made and were nicely painted. I installed them on my F150. The tools and hardware supplied were of good quality and installation was straight forward. Two people would have been great, but I was able to install both sides in a little less than an hour. The holes all line up very well. I like these better than the previous units I had on my 2013, as they do not stick out as far - so less noticeable. The extension arms come out at a very nice angle just under the body. I find these units with quality I expected and I think they will be highly functional in attaching my camper.

by:

Great product. Fit just fine, no drilling or difficulty. Great customer service. I will purchase from E-Trailer again when in need of.... David C. Pennsylvania

by:

As expected from TorkLift, good product, heavy duty, fast shipping.

by:

Well, we called you today to inform you that one of the three packages didn't arrive via UPS. You said it showed delivered so basically we go pound dirt. A package was delivered here that did not belong to us. I literally had to get in my vehicle and track down the UPS truck. Low and behold he still had my 3rd box on his truck. That is obviously not your fault but the final response from you was very disappointing. We spend thousands with etrailer

by:

The front mounts installed relatively easily with no drilling or modification. Instructions were ok, i recommend doing the passenger side first, as it has no gas tank in the wayand you will get the idea of the mount and order of tightening. I had to use double washers(provided) on the replacement bed bolt provided to make it work properly. The mounts themselves are solid and well made. Roughly .120 wall tubing. I sprayed cold galvanizing paint inside the tubes to prevent corrosion. etrailer’s service and shipping were top notch and fast. Total install about 4 hours, but I work slowly and take my time.

by:

Everything was as expected it came with all the hardware to complete the project. Naomi was wonderful on the phone helping to ensure the correct parts were ordered.

by:

The parts fit as they should and work as designed. The main challenge for installing is in the loosening of the leaf spring bolts. With out an impact wrench or access to a touch and a long breaker bar it would be next to impossible for an average person to install.

by:

I had the mountings professionally attached to the frame. The hatches can be easily removed when not in use( and I would recommend that to keep them from being stolen). Using chains and turnbuckles, I feel very comfortable with my truck camper staying where it is.. does not rock, very solid.
It’s nice to feel secure about my camper staying firmly attached.
It was worth the investment.

by:

Good fit and the video instructions make installation so much better.

by:

Jason was great to work with on getting the proper camper tie downs for my truck as it was a new truck and was a bit confused as to the proper application.
I had them installed within an hour. Even an armature bolt twister could do this!
I have used my camper a lot since putting these on my truck and will tell you these are THE MOST SECURE ANCHORS I have ever used on any of my trucks PERIOD!
You will not make a bad decision going with this product. I recommend these tie downs over any product available! I Don't normally give recommendations or endorse products. These I am truly impressed with.

by:

Keep in mind the parameters of the application these may be different on another vehicle. Camper is a Northern lite 9-6. Vehicle Chevy 3500 LB SRW 4x4. Post install, in my opinion. I’d feel my comfortable if the ‘FastGun’ tie downs were facing opposing directions. Currently attaching to the designated anchor points all four FG’s angle from the TorkFit anchor point BACK towards the NL camper’s anchor points. This positively prevents the 3600 LB. camper from rearward movement. However FOWARD movement can and has occurred. After a necessary sudden braking event I checked my clearances and discovered that forward movement did occur. About, one inch. My NL slid far enough forward that contact was made between the vehicle and the camper. Realignment was necessary. From an Engineers perspective: the best anchorage would be achieved with the anchoring devices (FastGuns, in my case) installed in opposing directions. In the future I will be placing blocks between the camper and the front of the truck bed to eliminate any forward movement.

The best system one can get for worry free camping. Etrailer communication and service has been superb.

by:

We originally installed Happijack tiedowns in 2013 because that was the only option that the dealer offered and they did well until we unexpectedly went over a large hump in a highway road damaging the front tiedowns and the bumper! Once the damage was repaired, we decided to go with the frame mounted Torklyft tiedowns, which, although not inexpensive, are superior in my opinion to the non-frame tiedowns. Earlier this year we replaced the rear tiedowns prior to a trip to Alaska and they worked extremely well over the notoriously challenging roads thru the Yukon Territory and Alaska “highways”. Upon our return we replaced the front Happijack tiedowns with the Torklyft frame mounted tiedowns and so far are very pleased with the upgrade.

by:

The camper tie down are solid and well worth the money. I installed them on my f250 to hold my camper and I just get in and go. Even in the mountain terrain.

by:

Product came promptly, however, part of the tie-down was sticking out through the box when delivered. Stronger packaging is suggested. Everything fit well and instructions were quite handy, making much of the otherwise difficult installation easier. There was mention of possible alteration of the emergency brake cable support if it was a manual system. Extra parts were even included if needed. However, on a 2025, 5.5' F-150, nothing was said about a main exhaust support being in the way of the passenger side's installation. The tie-downs are now installed but I'm still trying to figure out how to re-install the muffler support.

by:

These tiedowns were great. They fit my 2023 ford f350 4wd crew cab perfectly. They bolted on using existing holes and they included wire feeders to feed the bolts through all the holes. Everything was included in the kit and installation was pretty simple. Probably took an hour or so. Directions were very good and easy to follow. They hold my camper down very securely and are adjustable for various widths. Also easy to drill different hokes for custom widths. I highly recommend this tie down for this model truck.

by:

This is the third set, third vehicle, I have installed these camper tie-downs on. Once you are used to torklift instructions/ pictures the installation is not that hard ( even for me at 74 years old). The torklift product itself is well made and works great.

by:

Expensive but worth the cost. The fit is like a glove and the ease of taking them on and off is such a benefit when you want to drop your camper and go for a spin.
