Video Transcript for Mount-n-Lock Heavy-Haul'r Replacement RV Bumper: The Breakdown

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Mount-n-Lock Heavy Hauler 92 inch long, four inch wide aluminum RV replacement bumper with the brush finish. Has a 500 pound weight capacity. Now this bumper kit will let you add a bumper or replace your stock RV bumper for extra durability and a higher weight rating. This is a heavy duty aluminum bumper so it gives you a higher weight rating so that you can safely haul your bikes or your generator to the campsite. It is also great for supporting cargo carriers and other bumper mounted accessories.

One of those accessories we carry is a two-inch hitch receiver that'll clamp around this bumper to give you a two-inch hitch receiver on the bumper. That part we do sell separately on our website. It's part number MNT47FR. And just to give you an idea what that part looks like I'm gonna pop up an insert there and you can see there's the accessory with the two-inch hitch receiver opening. Just clamps around the bumper.

Now this does use 10 heavy duty brackets five on this side, five on this side. They're sandwiched together and they attach to the vehicle's frame right here and they will help reinforce the bumper to prevent heavy loads from damaging it. So it's less likely to lead to bumper detachment than a stock bumper with the same weight. The bumper itself is a hollow compartment, and if you notice on the ends, I zoomed in here to show you this end. And on that end, it's the same.

It has vented end plates that'll store your wet smelly sewer hoses and fittings. Basically, if you just lift, slide up the plate turn it to the side, just like that, then you can put in your sewer hose, your sewer fittings, even if they're wet, you can just put 'em in there because then when you slide the plate down to keep it in place, you'll have the vent holes here that'll circulate air, fresh air, prevent moisture and mold build up from having those sewer hoses and accessories in there. Now this is a rustproof, lightweight aluminum construction, has a nice brushed finish to it. Now the brush finish will be shiny. It does hide scratches, but it will hold onto dirt since it is a rough surface.

You can also get this bumper in a raw mill finish that can be painted to the color you want, or a glossy black powder coat mirror-like finish. It is a bolt-on installation to your RV's frame. Comes with the included hardware right here. Nice set of instructions that will describe how it installs. Now there is some drilling required. Also, a couple notes on installation. If your RV frame is shorter than your RV's body, you will need extension plates that are sold separately, part number MO24VR. And also, if your RV's body extends to the bottom of the frame, you will need drop plates, part number MO84VR. And again, both those items are sold separate on our website. This part is made in the USA. Few specs, the application, it'll fit I-beam, S-beam, tube, and channel frames. Now if the frames are flanged, it must be at least four inches tall and three inches long. If the frame is non flanged, must be at least three inches tall by three inches long. Dimensions on this bumper. The overall length from that end all the way to that end is 92 inches long, four inches wide, four inches tall. Maximum capacity again is 500 pounds when the weight is evenly distributed. And the weight on this bumper is 22 pounds.
