Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we are looking at our Westin Fey Diamondstep Rear Bumper in a silver powder-coated finish made of steel. That's right, folks. So this is pretty much a universal, if you will, bumper. It fits a lot of different Chevy, Dodges, and GM pickup truck, so make sure you're checking the fit guide and make sure this is gonna work for your specific vehicle.
It does require a custom no-drill mounting kit sold separately, and again, you can reach out to us, comment below, and we can assist you with finding the right stuff for your needs. It has been made of a cold-rolled steel, so steel, so it's super strong and sturdy. And as I mentioned before, it's got a nice diamond tread on the top there. That step surface will provide traction when you're getting in and outta your truck. So let's zoom in here and take a look at that so you can see.
(knuckles rapping) Again, nice and solid. Beautiful, beautiful finish on here. I went ahead and pre-installed these license plate wedge lights. They are chrome-kind-of-plastic finish. And then, of course, your main two lights, and they come with the bulbs and the wire connectors and the screws.
These would just simply pop in the backside here and twist, and that's how you would lock them in place. I wanna pop one of these off real quick, that I pre-installed earlier. And all these are is just a wedge light held in with this clip. You'll put this into the hole, and this clip will slide up behind the bumper, and the pressure off of that spring clip will then hold it in place. And then, of course, just like your traditional lights you're used to, once you put the bulb in, these go inside.
They twist to lock in place. Give you a nice water-tight connection back here on that license plate wedge light. So very easy to install, very quick to install. Again, you're gonna get both sides. Again, I just kind of popped 'em in place here before we started to give you an idea of what they look like installed. And, of course, you have your three holes here. Lemme flip this down. You have your main center ball hole. That's a one inch shank you're gonna need on the ball. And then, of course, you got your safety chain holes as well to the left and right. And then, of course, you have your license plate bolts. And then you've got these two holes in here. Again, I believe these are for like if you have those certain vehicles that have a spare tire, and you need to push through that rod to lower or raise that spare tire. Pretty sure that's what those are for. And again, everything here, cold-rolled steel. It's super strong. 8,000 pound capacity as far as towing. And the tongue weight capacity on a ball on this bumper would be 800 pounds of tongue weight. Recieved my bumper on the date expected. The bumper came in a nice box with plenty on protective wrap and all the necessary hardware. Directions were simple read understand and the bumper was installed in 15 minutes without any problems. Everything in the description came with the bumper also. I would recommend this bumper and or buy another if needed in the future. My truck is a 1992 jeep comanche. Very happy with this bumper kit.

Great bumper! I believe it’d be strong enough to pull a small boat or utility trailer. Box came a little beat up but that’s not uncommon for shipping in my area. Bumper was flawless when I unwrapped it and looks great. Directions for installation were easy to follow. I highly recommend this bumper.
The quality is very good for the price! The only thing that need to be corrected are, the instructions show mounting the mounting brackets opposite of how they actually mount and bolt to the bumper. The higher hole goes to the inside not the outside. The only other thing that needs changed, is the length of 2 of the standard bolts in the kit. 2 of them are very hard to get the thread started with both a flat and lock washer. Other than that, this is a nice product at a nice price point
I recently bought a bumper for my Dodge pickup from Etrailer. The product is everything they said it would be. The installation was quite simple and the quality is 10 out of 10. Great product, especially for the price. Instructions and videos were good also. the only issue I had was the holes didnt line up perfectly on the frame, even though I had the exact year make and model of truck that the bumper was for. I had to drill one hole in each side of the frame to get a third bolt in (the rear bolt in the picture) and strengthen in up a bit. Id highly recommend this product and etrailer as well. Good experience!!!
1997 Ford F-350 XL 4x4 - Great bumper and excellent customer service from etrailer. My truck has the 37" width frame so you have to flip the mounting brackets so they are narrower to the bumper. Everything bolts directly on, no drilling.

My Westin Diamondstep Replacement Bumper was installed almost flawlessly by a good friend. It arrived in perfect condition, and even had a replacement license plate light kit included that I wasn't aware of. As you can see from the photo, my new Westin Diamondstep Replacement Bumper looks great installed on my 1999 Dodge Dakota. finally got chance to install bumper on truck. the installation was rather simple a little akward for 1 person to do but I was able to install it fairly easily. This bumper is a great fit on my truck. The only fault I found was my truck had factory reciever hitch, so had to remove a bracket holding hitch to install bumper otherwise the bumper fit nicely. I would recommend this product to others. Attached are some before and after pics.
WE ARE MOUNTING IT NOW AND IT LOOKS GOOD. IT DID ARRIVE WITH MINOR DAMAGE. THE TOP DIAMOND PLATE WAS LIFTING OFF THE CENTER OF THE BUMPER.WE WERE ABLE TO REPAIR IT.
The product is top quality, nice and heavy-duty and clearly well built!! I love how it's not flashy and matches the original step bumpers from the 1970's and 80's Ford trucks very well! There was an issue with shipping and my hardware kit ws damaged and missing parts - but Austin in customer care took care of it for me in no time. Got my replacement hardware kit in just a few days. I would highly recommend this product to any vintage Ford/Chevy truck owner who wants a new bumper that has the same characteristics of the original step bumpers.

I like that there was a PDF installation sheet before I purchased this, so I could confirm the dimensions. The box and the shipping went well and I'm pleased to have an installation kit for this bumper. I like the finish, however, I would prefer the manufacturer did not put black silicone to seal the diamond plate to the curve of the bumper. It doesn't stick very well to the finish and will be an eyesore until I remove it with some robust scrubbing. If the idea had been to prevent moisture intrusion, it wasn't followed up with any sort of seal on the inside under the diamond plate. The installation kit was fine and I installed the bumper according to the instructions. I do know that the distance between the frame members on my truck is what they predicted. However, the spacing on the tabs on the bumper were 3/8 of an inch wider on each side. I made myself some 3/8 inch thick aluminum spacers, and everything aligns quite well. I'm not sure what the manufacturer had in mind by saying the "hitch-width" was three-quarter inch wider than the frame rails which it correctly identified. Had I not put spacers in, it would've really wrenched on the metal pieces or the frame of my truck. Overall, I would buy this again, and recommend somebody else do the same. Of course, with the caveats that I've identified.
Bumper installed easily and looks great. Frame bracket holes lined up perfectly, and the bumper lined up on the brackets with very little effort. It took me about 1 hour to remove the old bumper and install the new bumper. Recommend having an assistant to at least help hold the bumper while lining the bolts up. It is exactly what I expected. The safety chain holes are a bit further from the edge than my old bumper, but I picked up two shackles and that issue was resolved.
I am very impressed with this bumper. I bought it as a replacement for my 77 Ford F150. I've been restoring this truck since 2006, and the original bumper was too far gone to save. I was trying to match the original as closely as possible and this one was perfect.
It came with everything needed, right down to the license plate lights and bulbs. It was easy to install with the supplied directions and it looks great on the truck! Good price, free shipping, and very good quality. Five stars all day long.
Order was received quickly, great customer service. Doesn't fit/look exactly like original bumper. But quality is good and over all I am statified with it. It's a 1991 Jeep Comanche Eliminator and I am the original owner, so it's a visual adjustment to the new bumper and fit ( from the rear, I see more spare tire and exhaust pipe but I am getting used to it). Hard to find original parts for a (almost) 35 yr old vehicle (but you came darn close). Thanks.
Overall quality is excellent, but...
So, there's a hole for a hitch ball, and two more as places to attach safety chains...but no way to hook safety chains into them! I had to make my own safety chain loops that bolted into the holes. Seems like an intentional oversight (cheaper, but poor usefulness). Maybe they should have been included in the $[XX] mounting kit, which is a terrible price for a few bolts and 2 short pieces of steel.
Exactly as advertised fit perfectly on my 85 ranger and looks great.
Bumper is nice but came bent on upper lip but was able to straighten it with the help of my son. Says it fits a 78 Ford F350 but the brackets need to be modified extensively which I did to make it fit. Had to cut the bracket in the front and rear to make it shorter to bring bumper closer to the truck because the gap was over 5” long. Then had to drill 6 additional holes on brackets. I got the bumper to fit very nicely. They should make brackets that fit the actual application it says it will. If you are not willing to put the effort don’t buy this particular brackets.

Bumper came as expected, good quality. The install kit worked, however the instructions are not correct for how to mount to the truck. Simple fix, just backwards and turned around from what the instructions say to do. All the holes lined up once you do that! Shiniest part of this truck now lol!
