Video Transcript for Dragon Rectangular LED Boat Accent Light Review

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this surface mount, waterproof Dragon LED boat accent light with the red LEDs. Now, this LED light will provide a nice, bright red light on your boat, so it's great for upgrading or replacing courtesy and accent lighting. The light output on this slide is about 32 lumens. It is a nice sealed, waterproof housing and lens unit, which is submersible.

It does have an IP 68 rating, which means it's resistant to submersion up to a maximum depth of five feet underwater for up to 30 minutes. It is a military-grade construction of the circuit board. They do use a urethane potting, which offers better protection than the common epoxy potting. And the LEDs they use, here's four of them on this, they are premium LEDs. And they are energy efficient, long-lasting, and vibration resistant.

They are rated for up to 50,000 hours of operation. You can see on this light, it is a nice, durable polycarbonate housing with a UV resistant lens. And it is a clear lens over four red LEDs. Now, at the end of this video, I am gonna hook this up to some 12 volt power just to show you how bright the lights are and the color of them. Now, this is compatible with 12 volt DC systems.

We mentioned it is a surface mount installation. Now, it does require a vertical or horizontal mounting cover, which we do sell separately on our website. They are listed on this product page as a related product. Basically, if this light is mounted in the vertical cover, it'll emit a 40 degree beam. And if it's mounted in the horizontal cover, it's gonna emit a 60 degree beam.

So, depending how it's mounted, will tell you what size beam it's gonna give off. Now, the mounting hardware is not included. That is sold separately. Now, this does hardwire to your application. It is a two-wire design, a power wire and a ground wire. And you can see the length of the wire it uses is about 36 inches. Few specs on this, the input voltage is nine volts to 14 volts. Power draw is .08 to .12 amps. Last thing I wanna do is give you the dimension of the light itself, then we're gonna hook it up to some power. So, the length on it is right at 1 1/8 inches long. The width of it is gonna be right at 3/8 of an inch. And the total depth is gonna be right at, let's turn it around here, half an inch. So, what we're gonna do now, let's go ahead and hook it up to some power. Whoops. Let's get that again. And we'll go ahead and turn the power on. Whoops. Let's reverse the connections. There we go. With our 12 volt power, now you can see the four red LEDs. We'll go ahead and turn off the overhead lights. And with the overhead lights off, you can see how bright the light is and the color of the red LEDs. I am gonna zoom out just so you can see distance wise, how much light it does give off. And I'll go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights. Turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on this surface mount, waterproof Dragon LED boat accent light with the red LEDs..
