Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi
Ordered the HBA16 to install on 2013 Dutchmen Rubicon 2900 TH with 7K Lippert axles, feeding the Kodiak Disc Brakes also purchased from etrailer. Unit was received with out any problems, installed and worked as advertised. The only real issue I had was prior to the order finding out for sure if this Actuator would work on my 2014 F-350 with or without the HBA-CAM. Once I received the HBA-16 the documents that came with it from Cargo Towing solutions provided me with another resource to verify what my truck would need. I contacted Nick Ruehlman with Cargo Towing Solutions and he assured me the HBA16 would work on 2014 F-350's with built in controller without the HBA-CAM. Installation was done by a brake tech and went in without any problems. etrailer customer support was very helpful in completing this project. Brakes are outstanding now that the electric's disc's are out.
Couldn't be happier with this brake system along with my Kodiak disc brakes. System works perfect.

Dexter DX Series Electric Over Hydraulic Brake Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi
Pump works great. Disc brakes with this pump work 10 times better that electric drum brakes. 4 stars because it took a couple of months to get
When the OEM steel brake lines wore out on my boat trailer I decided to upgrade the surge brakes to electric over hydraulic (EOH). I replaced the damaged lines and wired up this Demco actuator and now I can stop my trailer on a dime -- should have done this 10 years ago. The actuator works flawlessly with my 2017 GMC's built in controller -- nothing else was needed! Please note though that the GM controller does not apply the brakes when depressing the pedal if the vehicle is not moving (duh). So don't be surprised if you try to test it sitting in your driveway and think that it's not working -- it's designed that way to save wear on the pump if you're not moving. Pressing the manual control does apply the brakes though. (The brakes also apply if you're on an incline). I fabricated a mounting plate out of 3/8 aluminum since the trailer tongue was not wide enough and attached the pump using 4 countersunk 1/4" stainless bolts and then used two 1/2" square u-bolts to affix it to the trailer. If I set the gain on the truck to max, I can actually lock the trailer's wheels, something that surge brakes can't do on their best day! Back in 2010 I upgraded my disc brakes to Kodiak all stainless steel rotors, mounting plates and calipers -- 8 years old and they were still like new -- also well worth the money!

Hydrastar Electric-Hydraulic Actuator w/ Line Kit for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi
As of now I'm very excited to put this new product on my trailer.
These are the pics I took when I was done. Took two days to do but we'll worth it. I took pics after first load and now it feels good to actually stop with out wondering if the magnets were going to fail. I appreciate the fast shipping . The only thing I had to pick up was 25 feet of brake line,15 feet was not going to be anough . Other then this. I love it. Thank you very much and God bless

Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Kit for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi
Was a great tease, received box 4 of 4 and had to wait until Monday for the rest to arrive, the boxes were a bit hammered, and when a caliper mount bolt fell out I was worried how many other bolts had gotten lost, but everything was there. Service was great, free shipping, these were heavy boxes, and they are tough to pack well so they don't pop open. Thanks to the order staff and especially Sammi G for getting my order straightened out from my miss ordered parts, will be ordering my trailer parts from them again!
Works perfectly, much better than the surge brakes it replaced. Tows better, no banging back and forth. I installed myself, and I'm no mechanic,

Hydrastar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator w/ Breakaway and 7-Way RV Harness - 1,600 psi
The reason for 4 stars is in photo 1, the junction box is by far the cheapest and worst junction box I have ever had the pleasure of putting together, and I have installed many of them. My local suppliers junction boxes make this junction box look well let the imagination roam on this one, TERRIBLE. Again the break away setup in my opinion is sub par, not well built, though which break away system now a day's is they are all cheap. The 7 way harness as well is sub par, I have hand built better. The actuator, very interesting and a little different, not to sure about the quality, only time will tell, it does seem to be working and working well at this point. Stops trailer and tow vehicle on just trailer brakes alone, impressive.
I live in the mountains and the hitch actuator brakes create so much heat and don't get a chance to release going down mountain slopes / fire hazard. I removed the actuator hitch and welded a Bulldog hitch on. I wanted to keep my disc brakes on the boat trailer and installing the Hydrastar system is the only way to do that. The Hydrastar is a awesome system for electrical and braking hydraulics which gives you full control of trailer braking. That is a peace of mind, knowing your trailer brakes will not get hot uncontrollably to the point of a fire. Hydrastar system works great and the best purchase I ever did for boat trailer braking. It is controlled with the brake controller in the vehicle cab and when applied, the pump on the Hydrastar will put out plenty of PSI and will down right shut everything down - even without using the vehicle brakes applied (just testing it). The boat alone weighs 6500 lbs. loaded with fuel etc. I Highly, highly recommend this system and was enjoyable and easy to install.

Dexter BrakeRite II Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Kit - Vented - 1,500 psi
I pulled my boat for 1,500 miles soon after replacing the old pump. Brakes were effective and worked perfect. That was a year ago. Last week I launched my boat for the first time since then. No brakes. After a lot of contact cleaner, plugging and unplugging the cable to the truck, exercising the brake actuator, I finally got the pump to work again. That was the reason I replaced the original pump which was inop because of not being used. If you don't use it, you will lose it. It is a very expensive part. Dexter will not sell you the electronic pressure proportional valve that gets gummed up causing the pump to fail. Dexter will not give you the part number for that valve. Unfortunately, the stamped part number got obliterated part number during removal was unreadable. This was a very expensive lesson to learn, $1,069.98. In the future I will be exceptional careful when removing the valve should I have another failure. That valve will probably sell for less than $100.00. As far as Etrailer is concerned, they are the best when it comes to shipping quickly and helping the customer get what he needs.
I am most please that this company stands by their product and is a pleasure to deal with!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hydrastar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - OEM - 1,600 psi
The cap to the brake fluid broke in shipping wondering if u can send a new one
Outstanding addition to my Reflection 5th wheel. Back from 7000 mile trip to Canada and no problems whatsoever. One panic stop and brakes were very effective. With over 80,000 on my trailer this is this first trip without some kind of brake issue: broken wire, needs adjustment, put together incorrectly at dealers, etc. I installed the unit myself. Relatively straight forward. I did get confused on the wiring, could have been just me, but a separate wiring diagram for a 5th wheel might help. I didn't realize (and probably should have) that the emergency brake needs to get it's hot from the existing trailer battery and the main braking control has to get it's hot from the truck. All of this can be done in the pin box and is actually pretty straight forward. Great product. Should have installed years ago.

Hydrastar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi
The reason I gave it only four stars is because the subject Hydrastar Actuator I purchased a year ago replaced the same actuator I installed 2.5 years prior as part of a complete uprade of our Airstream trailer with six disc brakes and the extensive hydraulic lines required to make this triple axle trailer work. The previous Hydrastar Actuator worked for exactly 5,100 miles. It failed with out any warning during an extensive trip to California and then east to Texas! It simply quit internally. With the help of your company I called the manufacturer; in good modern-day unresponsive fashion I bounced into their voicemail. I realize it was six months beyond the two year warranty period. I did not expect a brand-new one from them. Rather my expectation was that would take mine in and diagnose and rebuild it on my dime or at their cost!? Since I never heard from them and I was planning to sell the trailer and wanted everything to work for the new owner I held my nose and bought the unit you are inquiring about now. I works as designed with about 20 miles on it. The trailer is still for sale as of this writing and will hopefully go to a new owner soon.
Best move I did was converting to hydraulic disc brakes on my 16,000 lb 5th wheel toy hauler. The stopping power and response is noticeably improved with no fade. along with upgrading to load range G tires, this trailer is a pleasure to tow behind my truck now even in heavy freeway traffic, no longer worried about running over a little car cutting me off. I would not own another heavy trailer without converting to disc brakes.

Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout - Bolt On - Disc - 2" Ball - Zinc - 7.5K
Delivery was very fast. Quality seems very good. Installation was super easy since my Shorelander swing tongue trailer has this standard hole pattern. I love how it looks and the extra foot of distance I get between the boat and my tow vehicle (so less chance of needing to get my feet wet or crawl through the SUV).
Finished drum to disc brake conversion on my 1993 year model Bass Cat trailer. Installation went smoothly and the UFP-A60 Actuator replaced the obsolete Atwood Actuator. Shortened the outer member a bit and added a 1" flat bar to the bottom for welding of 4" channel trailer frame.

Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout - Disc - Zinc - 2" Ball - 7,000 lbs
this is the best product it's so easy to use!just lower the hitch and it locks in and is also easy to unhitch, no binding. I would highly recommend this actuator.
Best brake actuator I have ever used. Had issues with my brake line fitting up to the actuator and George J helped me trouble shoot the problem and got it resolved in no time. Best price, best product and superior support staff. I would not hesitate to purchase any product from them at all and will definitely use them in the future for all my trailer needs.

Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator - Disc Brakes - 2" Ball - Zinc Plated - 7,500 lbs
Original brake actuator was welded to the trailer tongue. I had to cut it back and weld a new piece of 3x3 tube steel and extend it out enough to install the new actuator. It lengthened the trailer by about a foot but worked out pretty well. The new one works great.
Master cylinder works great no issues

Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout - Bolt On - Disc - 2" Ball - Zinc - 7.5K
Pros. Works great really noticed the difference right away. Ed W. with etrailer was great to work with helped determine which one to get. It was a fairly simple install. Con. The reverse lockout was further away than my original, just a little, so my brake line was too short. Auto parts places didn't have a flex that fit the thread. I was doing this on a Sunday so I had to drive across town to a trailer guy who was open for a flex line. I would give it 4.7 stars if I could would of gave a 5 star had they included a short flex line with the kit. It's about a 2 hour job with everything you need I spent an extra 2+hours getting a part. All in all been using for a year and I am completely satisfied.
The product is as expected and an exact replacement for my trailer. The exceptional part of the transaction was the speed my order was filled and shipped.

Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout - Bolt On - Disc - 2" Ball - Zinc - 7.5K
Updating my old surge brake coupler, I really like this Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout - Bolt On - Disc - 2" Ball - Zinc - 7.5K fits 3”x4”trailer tongue, it was easy to install, I did have to drill new holes, I just wish the manufacturer would have included the bolts and the information on how much to torque the bolts to, it’s about “2 drop from my old coupler. etrailer was super fast with shipping !
Have not use the Actuator yet. However it came in a oversize box. No packing material to protect it. It was damaged when I opened the box. Scratches and damage cable

Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout - Disc - Multi-Fit Ball - Bolt On - 6,000 lbs
This Actuator is perfect for my project; a light weight tear drop trailer. Really well made, and the shipping and customer service is really first rate. Great to deal with etrailer. More later after I get a chance to test it.
etrailer.com is a great company to do business with, and they definitely get 5 stars from me. Great website (love the videos and things are easy to find) , great selections, good prices, fast delivery, great customer support, etc. Now, for the surge actuator... I'll give the surge actuator 5 stars, too, but with some hesitation about a couple of minor things. First, let me say that I was absolutely thrilled with the performance of the actuator on its first road trip. We have a 5000 lb. combined boat and trailer weight, and while creeping down a very steep hill, just to see what things felt like, having the trailer behind me didn't feel any different than just driving my Yukon without the trailer. Also, stopping and then starting up from a stop sign was as smooth as silk -- no jerking or tugging feeling whatsoever. After pulling the trailer for about 30 minutes, I stopped and measured the temperature of the trailer wheels near the hubs, and they were at 75-80 degrees on a 60-degree day. Like I said, I was trilled, especially after previously dealing with an actuator that performed badly in all of the ways that this new one performed so well. That's why I'm giving the actuator 5 stars, but like I said, it's with some hesitation and here's why... I'm not sure I'm a fan of the screw-type ball latch that's on the actuator. I wrestled with it for a long time before I finally figured out what was wrong and managed to get the latch onto the hitch ball. There's a small rectangular bracket on the bottom side of the latching mechanism, and it holds the hex head of the bolt that you're screwing down on when the latch is closing. The latch is spring loaded, so normally that little bracket is held in place where it needs to be, but if the spring is compressed, it's possible for the little rectangular bracket to get turned 90 degrees from where it should. And if that happens, you're not gonna get a 2" ball onto that actuator -- I tried and failed for a long time. The other thing that causes some hesitation is that that latch mechanism seems like it might not be quite as corrosion proof as I would hope. I've decided to spray it with WD-40 to see if that helps to keep it in good shape. I'm including 3 photos with this review. One shows the little rectangular bracket that holds the bolt's hex head in its correct position, another shows what the latch should look like when it's fully opened, and the third shows the beginning signs of a little corrosion after the actuator has been outside for only a couple of weeks. We did launch the boat once in salt water, but I don't think the actuator got wet when we did it, so I think the slight corrosion is just from being outside in the rain, and not from salt water exposure. Like I said, the actuator performed extremely well, so even with the minor criticisms, I'll still give it 5 stars. And etrailer definitely gets 5 stars!

Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Drop and Electric Lockout - Disc - Zinc - 2-5/16" Ball - 20K
Pros - Installation was very easy and bleeding was simple for 2 people Cons - packaging was in a box more than twice the size of actuator allowing for a lot of obvious shifting with potential damage during transit. The new latch for the hitch is miss aligned from rest of hitch and has an apparent stress crack in it already. Not sure how long it will last compared to the steel ones on old model. It also has no place to lock the latch adding to theft concerns.
Installed this on my boat trailer weighing in around 17,000 lbs total. ( boat and trailer) I have a long driveway with a slight incline and the electric lockout is terrible. While reversing the brakes would always engage and I would have to loosen the brake line with my flair wrench to complete my parking. I emailed e-trailer and they told me about the warranty process. It requires me to send in the faulty solenoid for them to inspect, and then deem if its covered or not. So I bit the bullet and just purchased another solenoid outright. Installed the solenoid and it worked fine with just the trailer, No boat on it. Once I loaded my boat onto the trailer, the brakes would lock as it did before. The solenoid was installed properly, to confirm this, I blocked both my truck and trailer tires. Put the truck in reverse and used a test light to verify 12v at the reverse light pin on my trailer light connection box.

Dexter Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator w/ Drop, Electric Lockout - Disc - 2-5/16" Ball
No grease fittings, the solenoid is not protected from the elements, the zinc plating will surely disintegrate within a year in saltwater.
Very good quality, and our customer has made no complaints.
