Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brakes - 10" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K
I placed my very first etrailer order on July 5th for the following items - Dexter Trailer Brake Kit (Code 23-468-469), Easy Grease Trailer Hubs x2 (Code AKHD-545-35-EZ-K) and Redarc Tow-Pro Elite (Code RED63RR). The shipment was received on July 7th but was missing right hand (RH) brake assembly that is part of the Dexter Trailer Brake Kit. The one brake assembly I received, and the Tow-Pro Elite were packed in an e-trailer box. The 2 Hubs were shipped in their product box only. E-trailer provides a nice log of the actions taking place on the order. My order went through 3 individuals (processed by, gathered by, packed by) who ALL missed my order being complete. One of the hubs had broken through the box and was taped back together. At the time, I could not tell if this happened in shipping or not. I found out later that this box had indeed been shipped this way. When I broke the box down to recycle, I noticed white writing on the inside of the box that wrapped up the sided (around the hole that was taped in the box). So, either the manufacturer or e-trailer shipped the box in this fashion. Pictures are attached to show this. I contacted e-trailer support via phone when I arrived home on July 7th and found the items. It was not an issue to get a RH brake assembly on its way to me. The e-trailer rep was not overall concerned with getting me a replacement for the hub. They stated something along the lines of "These are heavy and built to take a beating, let me know if there is an actual problem with it." I received shipping confirmation on July 7th that the RH assembly had been shipped. It wasn't until 7/13 that the RH assembly arrived. I received the first request for a review on July 7th about my order and experience to which I replied on July 10th. I had let them know I had some issues and was waiting for the rest of my missing order to arrive. I also mentioned that both the RH (Code 23-469) and LH (Code 23-468) assemblies that make up my kit were about ~$60 cheaper than buying the kit. Seeing as I received the individual items anyway and not the kit (pics of the e-trailer item sticker to show this) I asked if they could adjust the price for me (both of which are still cheaper today, July 19th). I received an initial response of "I'm sorry, but we would be unable to price match as we are unable to confirm the price of the items when the order was placed." and second response of "I'm sorry, but our prices can change every day due to are algorithm. We are unable to price match after an order has shipped as a result.". I cannot recommend etrailer and this will likely be not only my first, but last purchase with them as well. I thought I was choosing a reputable company but would have been better purchasing my products from Amazon where they are cheaper. Not even pricing matching your own products is another thing (due to their error of sending individual items). The thought of shipping out an already potentially damaged product and a shipping container that is compromised is appalling too. Is it so much trouble to ship the products in an actual shipping box rather than a product box that is not rated for shipment?
Everything fit and worked exactly as it should. Was grateful for the fast delivery.etrailer is the real deal.

etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left/Right Hand - 5.2K to 7K
The items arrived in a timely manner however when unpacked there was virtually no filler among the items one tube of grease was crushed and the brake assemblies were scratched up. Luckily the seals were not damaged. Everything worked out but still disappointing as I’ve made numerous purchases from etrailer and had not had this issue before
Kit was as advertised and relatively easy to install. The only issue I see is the very light gauge wire coming from the brake assembly: while it’s probably sufficient for the amps pulled by the the brake magnets, it was difficult to splice to my 12ga trailer brake wiring (and some “experts” recommend 10ga trailer wiring). Would be great to supply gel filled multi-gauge splices with the break kits.

etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K
Great, fast shipping. Some people have said it needs better packing. I ordered two (Right and Left). One did arrive "ajar". However, it's easy to fix. Just get a ten-inch piece of 2x4 wood, and a hammer and knock it back into place. Use the wood between the hammer and the brake as a cushion. I will write an update after I install them. I am happy with my purchase. I don't think any more packing would help the "jarring out of alignment". The brakes are sort of spring-loaded. It can happen because of the springs and bummpy transportation. I will post an update after I install them and use them. I don't anticipate any problems. This is a honest review and five stars happy.

etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - 7" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 2,000 lbs
Great kit, upgrading my trailer from the surge brakes that came with the trailer to electric. One note about these that's mentioned in the comments and the video it does not come with nuts and washers to install on your trailer (mistake in my opinion) but for me not a big deal. Just go get enough washers and nuts for your install. 7/16 FINE thread. Easy install, have not used them yet, still overhauling trailer.
MAGNET CLIPS JUNK order arrived packing suxs springs and clips loose within the wrapping paper one brake adjuster was not attached and was loose floating around within the assy. throw away the magnet clips order the clips for the 10" ,dosent come with nuts to attach order 7/16-20 stainless steel nuts not a common thread size.

Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brakes - 12" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 7K
Everything fit properly and installation went smoothly. All needed parts were included, which was nice. The self-adjust worked well and break-in was quick. I've only put about 1500 miles on the trailer since install, so I can't speak to longevity. I'd buy them again though.
Quality is top notch. Instructions were clear and installation went without a hitch. Delivery was actually a day early which was great.

Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes - 12" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 7,000 lbs
I am a big believer is sticking with original equipment parts when possible. Locally here in Canada the parts thatbI purchased frome etrailer were much more expensive. It took much longer than expected for the parts to arrive, but the quality, fit and finish was excellent. Following the burnishing in procedure the brakes functioned excellent. My trailer is a 7 Ton dump trailer with an empty weight of around 5000lbs. My gain was set @ 2 empty with excellent results is slowing the truck and trailer. I haven't pulled a full load yet, but I expect to have full confidence in the brakes ability stop the trailer safety in annorderly manner.
Or Dexter brake order was delivered faster than expected. Brake system bolted up and has been working flawlessly for the last year. I will order again for our other trailers when needed.

Installing these turned out to be a battle, in part due to user error working with solderless connectors. Once I abandoned these in favor of old-fashioned wirenuts, my problems mostly went away. However, I have one big concern about the quality of this product: while troubleshooting my electrical difficulties, I discovered that with 3 out of 4 brakes(!), a hard plastic (or some sort of non-metalic metal) shard had broken loose and was rattling around inside the brake drum. They appear to have split off the back of the magnet. Obviously I'm concerned that had I not pulled the drums off and discovered this, they could have interfered with the operation of the brakes and/or caused damage. Although etrailer has provided stellar service, Dexter should be made aware of this problem.
The brake parts were all correct for my application and installation was straightforward with minimal tools needed. I did take the extra step of soldering the wire connections because that is the best way to do it IMO. Stephen at etrailer was very helpful. He made sure I had all the right parts for my application. and they were on their way very quickly. I will say that I tried to use my local dealer first because I like to support local businesses, but unfortunately, they were having trouble finding the right parts for my trailer. When we did find them, they were 50% more expensive for the exact same parts that etrailer supplied. I would also have had to drive 80 miles round trip to get them. The reason for the 4-star rating is because of shipping/packing. The parts were heavy in large boxes with no packing material to hold them in place. Two of the hub sets were out of their boxes and there was a crushed grease cap. So, better packing to keep things in place in the boxes or use a smaller box would be nice. I attached a few pics of before and after also tmy very worn hubs. You can see that eh armature is worn down to the studs and the magnets are starting to show the coils. It was time. Also a short video or timelapse that I titled, Trailer Brakes in 18 seconds

Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes - 7" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 2,000 lbs to 2,200 lbs
Unfortunately I am not too happy with these electric brakes. I only get to use this trailer twice a year for an ATV trip. The same failure has happened twice now with these magnets on the brake shoe. Ultimately what happens is the wire which is molded into the magnet breaks. I can’t figure out what exactly is causing the problem. Either there is too much vibration as the brakes come to a final stop or the little clip holding the magnet onto the shoe lever is popping out and allowing the magnet to rotate. First time this happened it was one broken wire connected to the magnet. Now this second time it is both wires going into the magnet are cut clean away at connection point to the magnet. I am not pleased with the situation. I have spent more time driving without the trailer brakes working on each trip than with them actually working. I feel the two weak points with this design are the small weak sizing of the wire and the cheap fidgety clip that hold the magnet in place. I have one more set of spare shoes and magnets left to try get these brakes working correctly. I was afraid this was going to happen and bought spare magnets last year.
etrailer service was great! Very nice staff members and professional. The product I purchased is great quality but appears to not fit my trailer properly. It was my second purchase (first one was a different vendor that sold Dexter parts) but both products did not seem to properly fit itself. It leaves a 1/4” gap exposing the pads to the elements. I relieved as much tension off the pads to slide the drum over the pads but still did not completely enclose.

Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers - 13" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - 7K
I purchased and I installed the Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit HSE7K-T1 along with the Prodigy P3 brake controller on my 42'fifth wheel. As the saying goes "why did I wait so long" , I have been running them for a few months now, I wanted to get some miles and testing on the system before I commented so after several roads trips now about 4000 miles I am very pleased. They have worked flawlessly. I have always been on edge when towing, especially in the mountains with the old electric drum brakes. Now I have so much more confidence in stopping and that lifted so much stress off me. The old electric drum brakes just never felt as if they would stop the trailer especially in an emergency stop, but now if you apply the brakes hard you can feel the trailer stopping the truck. I have never been able to lock up the tires on the camper till now. If you have a little mechanical knowledge the installation is not difficult as long as you plan things out and be patient. I did have a few hiccups with shipping and a few parts but thanks to Robert all issues were addressed and corrected ASAP and parts were shipped out to me immediately. A special shout out to Robert which answered so many of my questions and helped me with ordering everything I needed to install my kit. etrailer has always been a pleasure to work with. I will never have an RV without Disc Brakes again. Thanks again to Robert and etrailer.
Package was destroyed during shipping. Box was opened. I’m sending it back. Worried about missing, or damaged parts. Seals not protected at all. Loose in box. I’m very disappointed. I’ve gotten things from E-trailer in the past, and have been very happy with packaging. Maybe somebody in the shipping department was having a bad day?

Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 10" Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs
Everything was assembly fine until the last one. The copper inlet on the caliper snapped in half. Other 3 went together fine then this one just snapped. Not sure if I can get that fitting out of the caliper or not! Is there a way to replace that? Thanks
Nice replacement for older Kodiak disc brakes. The quality looks like it's pretty good, but only time will tell since. The kit was simple to install if you already have similar style setup and axle mounting bracket. This disc brake kit - Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 10" Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs was used with the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout - Disc - Zinc - 2" Ball - 7,000 lbs

Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes - 12" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 6,000 lbs
Fit perfect work outstanding! I bought these assemblies because they are Made in the USA. Only way to go.
They're genuine Dexter, they do what they are supposed to do. I was disappointed in etrailer for taking so long to get them. I use etrailer as my Dexter vendor, if they can't do any better I will be shopping elsewhere. If I wanted knock-off brand I would shop Amazon.

Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes - Parking Brake Ready - 10" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K
Purchased Dexter 3,500 lb backing plate assembly with brakes including manual brake. Parts were genuine Dexter. Installation has helped in the restoration of a Sloan Kwik Load car trailer I recently acquired. Appreciate the etrailer employee followup, service, and pricing. Thanks so much.
really like the product, fit was as original, but don't understand why it took almost 3 weeks to receive

etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes w/ Dust Shields - Self-Adjusting - 12-1/4" - Left/Right - 12K
I installed these brakes on both axles both sides of a 35' tandem dually trailer. I've only pulled it roughly 5 times for about 200 miles total. The only issue I've had, is with the brakes cranked to "10" they still barely brake, won't even skid the tires on grass. Not sure how far you have to go before they are "broke in", otherwise they were an easy install with no issues.
Part is correct but very poor packing quality for the shipment leaves me worried about damage.

etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - 12" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 5,200 lbs to 7,000 lbs
Changed out all four brakes on my FW. E Trailer brand brake kit is well made and just as good as the costly name brand. After a year and about 6k miles brakes are fine no problems at all.
Great brakes. Fit was perfect! Shipping was fast. Customer service was awesome! Great to know there is a company out there that cares & is full of information. This is my new “go to” for all my future trailer needs. I dont normally write reviews but felt i had no choice in this case.

Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers - 13" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - 7K
Nice quality, fast shipment, and fairly easy installation. The brake line from the actuator to the first axle is quite long. I will go back with a custom line in the future, for now just coiled it up. William S was extremely helpful with my order.
Installed fairly easily, works great. Stops much faster than the old drum brakes.

etrailer Hydraulic Trailer Brakes - Uni-Servo - 10" - Left/Right - 3.5K
Installed in minutes on my 35 year old boat trailer . Better fit than OEM. Excellent price.
This went into a 30 year old boat trailer. Lost a grease seal and coated the brakes. I wanted to replace everything. I wish I would of bought the hardware with brakes. Would of saved me a 60 mile round trip. Everything went together easy.

Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes - 10" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 3,000 lbs
I have a 2015 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 154BH and initially thought it had 3500 LB brakes. When I discovered the brakes were 3000 LB, the only place I was able to find them was etrailer.com. I received the brake assemblies in July 2024 and installed them in August. I'm happy with the product etrailer.com supplied and have since camped with the trailer, no issues.
I ordered and received the brake assemblies in good time. These are genuine Dexter brakes made in the USA. Needed additional items, hub/drums, but unfortunately etrailer could not supply. I was able to source them from a local HD truck and trailer supplier and will complete the brakes when they arrive.
What our customers are saying:
"You folks are fast. Thank you very much."
