Today we're going to take a look at the Rear View Safety Backup Camera System for the Nissan NV vans. This is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2012 to 2016 Nissan NV1500, NV2500 and the NV3500 vans, and on a custom fit part like this I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now this part will include everything I laid out here on the table. The backup camera with the third brake light, the mirror monitor, the remote, a power harness, the 66' extension cable, and a nice user's manual that'll describe how to hook everything up and how to operate it.I will start with the backup camera. This will replace the third brake light in the Nissan NV vans, making for a nice, clean installation.
Comes with a viewing angle of 130 degrees, and its sensor provides an image quality of 480 TV lines. It does use nine infrared lights on it to provide a crystal clear image, even in the darkest night, and it has an IP 68 rating that'll help keep out any dirt and moisture. It does come with all the aircraft grade cable connections, and it boasts to 10 G vibration rating. It does come with a gasket too, when you go to install it. The monitor, it's a 7" LCD digital color monitor.
This attaches to or will replace your existing rear view mirror in the vehicle. You can see it does have like spring loaded clips on the back here that you can attach to the rear view mirror.Because it's placed where the rear view mirror is, it'll give you perfect viewing of your backup camera without taking up any room on your dash. It does offer mirror image capability. It does all come with optional grid lines and even a built in speaker with all its functions controlled with the onscreen touch buttons or the remote that's included. Power harness allows you to connect everything you need.
Comes with an automatic system switch, and again the 66' long extension to allow you to extend or connect from your camera to your monitor.But that should do it for the review on the Rear View Safety Backup Camera System for the Nissan NV vans.

Exactly what I needed for our venerable 2003 Jayco travel trailer. 3D printed a very neat unit that holds the display and fits into a “sunglasses pocket” on the top of the dashboard of our Chevy Colorado pickup.

Still going strong. Great picture quality. I would recommend this if you are looking for and backup camera. Etrailer is a good company to buy from with excellent customer followup on you satisfaction.
I bought a two camera setup, works great! One camera on the 5th wheel hitch, and one on the rear of the trailer. The camera on the trailer is setup to be on all the time I am driving. It really helps for backing up, but it is even better on the road. You can see cars coming up on the trailer and see if they are going to pass.
This system failed after a few months and then neither the manufacturer or etrailer would stand behind the product. This is not a quality product.
This 2 camera system gives me a full view of the road behind me as well as providing a closeup look at my toad. The backup guide-lines let me drive my 33' Southwind backwards with a trailer without any problem whatsoever.....and I can easily switch between the full-road or close-up modes to check on my trailer/toad when going through dicey road conditions.
Very easy to hook up.....wire your power supply line and plug in the rest.
This is an awesome camera setup. I installed this on a 2012 Chevy Express cargo van. I mounted the camera to the top of the 3rd brake light cover and drilled a 3/4" hole to hold the included rubber grommet for the camera wiring. The wiring was simple, I found a fuse that is tied into the ignition switch and used a fuse tap to supply the minimal amps needed. I wired it so the camera is on whenever the vehicle is running, to act as the rear view mirror since the van has no rear windows. This is a high-quality kit and I am very happy with it.
It is not clear how to install the U shaped bracket with the monitor. One picture in the manual shows thumbscrews, maybe nuts too (not a great picture), and it appears to be mounting to the sunshade I believe. There are no holes in the sun shade, and no nuts for the thumbscrews.
There are 4 holes in the back of the monitor, 2 on each side that look like they would be for mounting, but no brackets or screws to fit those.
