If you want your vehicle to keep its factory look when you’re not towing, this setup does the trick. The invisible design leaves no bulky crossbar or protruding brackets in sight, and the removable arms keep things tucked away when not in use. The included high-density polyethylene covers snap into the receivers to block dirt and debris, so the tabs slide in and out smoothly every time you hook up.
Connecting your tow bar is simple and quick. Each arm slides into the base plate receiver, twists to lock, and secures with the included safety pin for an added layer of security. When it’s time to disconnect, just pull the pin, twist, and remove. With this twist-lock setup, you get a smooth connection that stays put mile after mile.
This base plate bolts directly to the chassis and spreads towing forces evenly to help reduce stress on suspension components. The sturdy steel build gives dependable strength for long trips and rough roads alike. No welding is required, and all necessary hardware comes in the box for a solid bolt-on mount that you can trust over thousands of towing miles.
Already have a tow bar setup you like? You’re covered. This base plate works with all Demco, etrailer, and Blue Ox tow bars without needing an adapter. If you’re running a Roadmaster tow bar, just add the correct adapter (e98983, e98984, e98979, or e98981—sold separately). An electrical bracket is included so you can easily mount a round connector plug for a tidy front-end wiring setup.
If you prefer to do your own installs, this kit is designed for that. It mounts securely with bolts—no welding required—and includes detailed instructions along with all necessary hardware. The bracket spacing is 33" and bracket height is 21", giving clear reference points for planning your setup. It’s a hands-on project that most enthusiasts can complete confidently with basic tools.

Hi Shawn, the etrailer Invisible Base Plates part # e66GV are not a fit for the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is why the shutters had to be removed, and the instructions didn't cover it. These base plates fit the previous 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee model, but due to changes in the fascia and bumper they're not a fit for the 2026 model due to those modifications. However, the actual frame of the 2026 Grand Cherokee is still the same as the 2025 model, so the base plates are safe to tow with.
