Hi William!

We have what you need for your 2018 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk! The etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # e98952 will fit perfectly and the etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000 lbs # e34ZR will handle the weight of your Jeep without issues. It also includes the safety cables, so no need to get those separately. Both of these are also American made!

Do you have all the other parts picked out already? If not, I have the ones I recommend listed below.

Wiring:
Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25
4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267

Braking System (optional, though highly recommended):
Portable - Blue Ox Patriot Portable Flat Tow Brake System - Proportional # BLU37TR
Permanent - Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional # SM99251
Permanent - Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes - Proportional # SM99243

I mentioned the braking system being optional as not all states require them, but I always recommend adding one. It can be scary when the vehicle behind you starts pushing the towing vehicle when trying to stop. Speaking of which, what will you be pulling your Jeep with?

Hey William, Did you decide on the tow bar and base plates for your Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk? I'm curious to know if everything fit well and if you found the braking system helpful. Your experience could really assist others in making their towing setup decisions!
