This base plate kit works with Roadmaster tow bars that slide into trailer hitch receivers such as the Nighthawk, Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, and Falcon 2. It’s a solid match for those setups without needing a crossbar. Just note that EZ Hook safety cables from Sterling tow bars won’t connect here since they attach to a Quick Disconnect crossbar that isn’t used with this direct-connect design.

I’ve pulled the Chevy behind our motor home several times over a the last year. It has worked excellent. And when not in tow the tubing is barely noticeable.

The baseplate is sturdy and fit the holes in the frame. Once I accepted that the front license plate needed to be relocated, installation took about a day. In addition to the baseplate itself, the safety cables and brake wiring need connection points, which result in more holes in the grille. The design of the baseplate ignores the fact that wiring connections from RV to tow are needed - having a mount for the wiring plug would have been a big help. We have towed several thousand miles with no problems with the baseplate.
