Hey Mike, The Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # 122-1 is not compatible with your 1978 Chevy because it has the 5.7L engine. I'm not seeing any other custom options from a manufacturer either, but I do have some alternative options for you to think about. Curt has their Adjustable Tow Bar # C19745 which installs by modifying the mounts to a vehicle, or you can have a shop try to figure out a mounting system for you. You will need a few items to flat tow your 1975 Blazer with the 2” hitch receiver on your 2004 Safari motor home. First you will need a base plate kit made specifically for your vehicle. Recommended Baseplate For A 1979 Chevy C10 Stepside
Looking at Roadmaster's fitguide the only option is the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # 122-1, with the stipulation that it's 2 Wheel Drive and excluding Diesel and 5.7L Engine models. There currently isn't an adapter to go from a Roadmaster baseplate to a Ready Brute tow bar so you would need to also get a compatible tow bar, like the etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e44ZR. This tow bar is going to also come with safety cables so you won't have to purchase them separately....
