Video Transcript for Fusion LED Hardwired Trailer Light: The Breakdown

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we take a look at the Optronics Round Fusion LED Hardwired Stop Tail Turn, Backup and Warning Trailer Light with the Red and the Clear Lens. Now, this is a round trailer taillight, has a nice, smooth bright red exterior, and this light will serve five functions. And I do have this hooked up to some 12 volt power, just so we can go through those functions. So the first function is gonna be the tail light.

So I have it hooked up, and we'll go ahead and turn on our 12 volt power. And you can see the tail light would come on. Go ahead and turn off the overhead lights. And there's your tail light function. Basically, the outer band of 10 red LEDs will light up.

And then when the brakes are applied, you'll see those same 10 red LEDs get brighter. So your brakes are (indistinct). And now when you do hit your turn signal, same way. It'll be the 10 bright red LEDs, but it'll be getting brighter and flashing. And then, if we go to the backup light, just wanted to show you, we'll hook up the reverse light.

And with that hooked up, what you'll see when you go into reverse, you'll see that center clear X lens right there. Basically, there's six white LEDs in that that'll light up, so that lets the people behind you know that you're going into reverse. And also what's unique with this light, it does offer a warning light. And I'm gonna try to show you that. But basically, there's two wires on the warning light.

There's a green wire and an orange wire. If we hook up a green wire, and then what you'll notice is, lemme go ahead, and you'll see that it's four ambers in that center clear lens that'll start flashing for a warning light. Now, if I go ahead and hook up the orange wire, what you'll notice for that warning light, it's gonna be six white LEDs that are gonna flash as a warning light. And then the last one, if I do both of them together, if we do the orange and the green together, which you'll notice when I go ahead and turn on the warning light, you'll see that they'll alternate. So you'll get your four amber flashing, and then your six white flashing in the middle. So there is a total of 20 LEDs on this light. It does offer, let me go ahead and turn back on overhead light, it'll offer four flash patterns that can be synchronized with multiple lights connected, by attaching the blue and the yellow wires. So for right now, I'm gonna go ahead and turn off the power. Disconnect everything. Now, this light is a sonically sealed waterproof housing and lens unit, which makes it submersible. It does use the durable SMT Technology, which is Surface Mount Technology. That's the construction of the LED circuit board on this light. It'll better withstand shock and vibration, allows for improved heat distribution. And we mentioned they use LEDs, that'll make great replacements for incandescent lights, 'cause they'll last 50 times longer. They're more efficient 'cause they'll provide brighter light with less power output. And of course, no bulbs to replace, no brittle filaments that are gonna break. And you do get a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. Now, as I mentioned, you can see it has the red lens, has the inside clear X lens, and it uses red, white, amber LEDs. Basically, that red lens has the red LEDs for stop, tail and turn. The clear lens has white LEDs for backup, as we showed you. And also, in that clear lens has white and amber LEDs for the warning lights. Now, this a recess grommet mount design to install this. Now, the rubber grommet to install this is not included. We do sell that separately on our website, and it's a part number A45GB. You can see this is hard wire, with all the wires ready to install. Wire length is eight inches. And just quickly to go through them all, the black wire is for your tail. White is for your ground. Red, stop and turn. Brown for your backup. And then, the other four remaining wires we had gone over briefly. The green wire is gonna be for the amber warning. The orange wire is for the white warning. The blue we mentioned is for the flash pattern connection. And the yellow is for the sink wire. This is DOT compliant, Department of Transportation compliant. Meets the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 requirements for automotive lighting. We mentioned the voltage for this is 12 volts. Last thing is just the measurement on the light itself. The diameter, one into the other, is four and a quarter inches. And the depth, right at about seven eighths of an inch.
