If you like your ride to look stock when you’re not towing, this base plate keeps things tidy. The hidden design doesn’t stick out past the front end, and the arms twist off in seconds for a smooth, factory look. When removed, receiver covers keep dirt and debris out so everything stays clean and ready for your next trip.
When it’s time to connect, the twist-lock design makes it simple. Just insert the arm into the receiver, twist until it locks, and secure it with the pin. When you’re done towing, pull the pin, rotate, and slide it free. The straightforward system makes solo hookups quick and easy whether you’re at home or on the road.
This setup bolts directly to the chassis with no welding required. The durable steel build spreads towing forces evenly across the frame to prevent stress on your suspension. It’s powder coated to resist rust and corrosion, so you can rely on it through plenty of long-distance miles.
Already have a tow bar you trust? This base plate pairs directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a solid connection. It can also be used with Roadmaster tow bars using adapter RM-031 or RM-031-5 (sold separately), or with Demco tow bars using adapter DM9523041 (sold separately). Integrated mounting points make it easy to attach an electrical connector plug bracket up front for a clean setup.
You don’t need to weld or fabricate anything for this one. The kit bolts securely to your chassis using the included mounting hardware. Bracket spacing is 20" with a bracket height of 12", so it’s easy to plan your layout before you start. It’s a solid weekend project that goes together cleanly and stays put mile after mile.

Its been two years since installation of the Blue Ox Baseplate. Since then, Ive flat towed the CRV from NJ to FL and back three separate times with many other shorter trips in between. Paired with a Blue Ox Tow Bar, the system has worked flawlessly since installation.

Follow up. Ive put about 8000 miles on the setup and its been great. A 34 ton suburban pulls nicely behind my Dutch star, and they dont have a steering lock so its nice not to have to retrieve keys when stopping for the night. I have used the safety cable attachment a few times for straight line pulls with a small shackle when working as a rally racing volunteer, its been fine but I wouldnt side pull on it.
