Recommended Flat Towing Components For A 2021 Mini Cooper Convertible

Hey Tim,

We don't currently have a video for the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1310 on a 2021 Mini Cooper convertible, but we'd love to do the installation and shoot the video on your Mini if you'd be able to drop if off at our Wentzville, Missouri location. If that's not an option and you don't feel comfortable doing the installation then we also have a dealer locator to help you find a local shop that can complete the installation. As for the rest of the components you'll need I have the following recommendations:

Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox and Curt Base Plates # e47ZR. This tow bar comes with safety cables bracketed to the arms so they won't drag on the ground and also includes a built-in rise, which you'll definitely need to help keep the tow bar level between the Mini and motorhome. You'll probably still need an adapter with how low your Mini sits but this should help.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode kit will splice into your factory tail light wiring to transfer over your motorhome's traffic signals to the Mini's tail lights.

Braking System: If your Tiburon has hydraulic brakes you'll want to go with the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo # SM99251. Since Mini's brake light switch isn't useable you'll need to install a stop light switch kit # RM-751469 for the braking signal for this system as well.

If you motorhome has air brakes then you'll just need the Demco Air Force One # SM99243 instead.
