Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Patriot Hitches the Captain five-Way Three-Ball Mount for your two and a half inch trailer hitch receiver. Now this is going to be an all-in-one heavy duty hitch setup that's designed to handle just about anything that you want to tow or recover. So instead of swapping out different ball mounts, this is going to come with three built-in hitch balls, your one in seven-eighths inch, your two inch, and your two and five-16ths inch balls. So you're gonna be able to hook up to a wide range of trailers right away.
And as I'm sure you know, when you're ready to change different ball sizes, all you have to do is remove this from your trailer hitch receiver and rotate it to the ball that you want to use and then slide that back into your receiver and secure it with the pins and clips. What makes this even more versatile is that this is not just for towing, this includes a pin hook and the D-ring, which means you can use this for recovery situations as well, like pulling out a stuck vehicle or handling heavier duty jobs. Both the hitch and the D-ring are rated up to 30,000 pounds, so it is built for serious work. To use this with the lunette ring, with the the pintle lock here, you're just going to drop the lunette ring over the ball and secure it just like you see it here with this lock over the lunette ring. So right now this is set up to be used as a pintle hook with the pintle hook, or as a pin hook rather, on the lunette ring.
And then when you want to use this just for a regular ball coupler, you'll just remove this. So very, very flexible, very versatile. So again, this is no lightweight. It's gonna be able to handle up to 30,000 pounds and with the tongue weight of 2000 pounds. So that's gonna put this in the category of equipment that you're gonna trust for those larger trailers, equipment hauling or work site use.
This is indeed made from carbon solid carbon steel, so it is extremely durable. As you see, it has a glossy black finish with red accents here, so it's going to be able to be protected against wear and corrosion while still looking sharp. Another nice thing is that this is a fixed design, so there's no adjusting height or dealing with extra moving parts. You're just gonna slide it into your two and a half inch trailer hitch receiver and secure it with the pins and clips, and you'll be ready to go. Let me give you some measurements.
Overall length from the end to the front of our recovery, our D-ring here, my memory slipped there for a second. So end to end here, we're sitting at about 15 inches. The overall width at the widest point, about seven to three-quarters inches. That's gonna be the same for the height as well. And then measuring from the rear of the sank shank rather to the center of the nearest hitch pin hole, about two inches. Moving over to the farthest hitch pin hole, about three and a half inches. We do also offer this in different accent colors as well. Not just red, but also blue and black. And then, you can also get this for a two inch trailer hitch receiver rather than the two and a half inch that I have right here. I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Hey, Dale. I'm trying to visualize what you mean by hitch lock down. If you could send me a picture or explain it more. I can see if there is a different solution to help get you to what you want.

Well I am glad we were able to get it right. What all are you planning on towing with this?
