how to mount a foxwing awning to a 2017 subaru outback with the factory supplied rack? Thanks.

I wasn't able to find any specifics regarding the width of the OEM crossbars found on the 2017 Subaru Outback. If the bars are less than 1-5/16 inches wide, then the # RR31105 adapters you'd looked at would allow the awning to mount to the crossbars.
If your crossbars are wider than that, your best bet would be to install an inexpensive roof rack like the Malone AirFlow 2, part # MPG216 which has channels in the top of the crossbars to accommodate the mounts used by the Foxwing Awning.
