Rhino-Rack Batwing Awning Installation on Yakima Round Roof Rack Crossbars

Question:

What is the distance from the end of the Yakima bar to the riser required to use the RR31105 with the Rhino Batwing bracket?

Rhino-Rack confirmed that their Batwing Awning # RR33200 can be mounted on round Yakima roof rack bars using the adapter kit # RR31105 that was designed originally for use with their now-discontinued Foxwing awning.

For a secure fit the Batwing requires that the crossbar spacing must be no less than 27-1/2-inches between the two bar centers but the adapters can be used either on the outsides of the rack feet or on the insides. Naturally, "inboard" installation is preferred from a safety standpoint. Each adapter in kit # RR31105 will take up 1-inch of space on the crossbars as shown in the photo. I measured these myself in our warehouse.
