Hi everyone, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking together at our Dexter disc brake assembly. It's a 9.6 inch hub and rotor set with a five on 4 1/2 inch lug pattern. Now folks, this is rated at 3,500 pounds or for a 3500 pound axle. Starting off much, you know, uses an inner bearing of L68149, or 1 3/8 inch inner diameter and an outer bearing of L44649, or a 1 1/16 inch inner diameter. Now this is a rust-resilient trailer brake assembly that's gonna let you change from a traditional drum brake to a nice upgraded disc brake assembly.
You get the caliper with the brake pads, everything here included and the bracket, the whole rotor and everything here, all the hardware, bolts, lug nuts, the grease cap here with the integrated plug and all the seals and everything as well. It's a rust-resistant GalvX finish on the hub assembly itself. As you can see, it is pre-greased on the front and on the backside as well. So it is literally ready to go out of the box. You just take it out and install it.
So everything here is ready to go, like I just mentioned. And this is a vented rotor as well. There are slits in the side that's gonna help dissipate the heat and everything and that's gonna help prevent heat-related damage with those laser-cut holes that are in there and everything. So very nice. It's gonna shed heat five times faster than typical cast iron.
So the caliper itself is an aluminum caliper and that's gonna be very nice as far as shedding heat, as well. You get an oversized rubber boot that's gonna provide fast piston withdrawal inside the caliper itself. So that's gonna minimize kink stress, stress twist, and wear on the brake lines themselves. Now speaking of brake lines and actuator and stuff, all you're getting today is the disc brake assembly. So if you're gonna need a hydraulic brake actuator and brake lines, all that's sold separately and it is required for these brakes to be activated and work.
And again, this is one side only. Obviously if you're getting a whole set for one axle, you're gonna need to order two of these to make sure you have everything you need. Well folks, that is gonna wrap it up for our quick look together. Again, this is a nice option if you wanna dramatically shorter your stopping distance and your maintenance costs are gonna be lower than your typical drum brakes and stuff. So again, this is a great option. I'm Steven, that's gonna wrap it up. Thanks for watching and have a great one.
