Randy: Hey, guys. Randy, here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at a CargoSmart flat hook. Essentially, this is going to allow us to contain a lot of different types of cargo. You can see these hoses and extension cords. Typically, around our shop here, these are always laying in a mess somewhere, wadded up in the corners, stuff like that.
By using this, you can see we're able to keep them pretty nice and organized here. We'll pull that off. We'll just pull that off. You can see it's a nice, large deep hook, has a gray powder coat finish on it. Then just to help things from sliding, the end has been dipped in rubber.
I like that. It makes it very thick. It also gives us some protection for some of the items we're going to be loading up, if it's going to be anything sensitive. Now, the hook's designed to work with the X-Track or with the E-Track. If it's going to be the E-Track, genuinely what you're looking for is the vertical E-Track, or if you mount the horizontal going this way, it should work. With the X-Track, those go both ways.
This is from CargoSmart. Definitely my favorite type of track. You can see they go this way or up and down. We'll just get it mounted up and down there. Does a great job of keeping those items up and off the floor or keeping them from falling down and getting in your way.Something else that I like about it...
Let's pull these off for just a second. We can move them anywhere we want, right It's going to use just the standard E-Track or X-Track style of connector. We'll pull that tab out, lift it up and in, rotate the bottom in. Then as we slide down, that's going to lock in place. These are fairly inexpensive. We can use a couple of them if we wanted to. By doing that, it's going to give us a nice, flat surface, maybe for a ladder.Let me grab a ladder real quick here in the back. See, that's going to fit in there nicely, keeps that up against the wall. Now, this is A-framed type ladder, or a fold-out ladder. It takes up most of that hook. We might be able to get our extension cord to hang on there on the end. You can see it kind of fits on there, but I think you'd probably want to. Maybe something like that would work out pretty well, but it has a lot of versatility, even if maybe we're going to do this in the garage. Actually, the guy behind the camera now, he put X-Track in his garage. He's used hooks. He's used several different things and really appreciates the organization he gets out of it. The tools aren't all leaned up in the corner, his hoses, his extension cords aren't just laying on the ground or wadded up on the shelf. I think you're going to be really happy with it. I think that it's something that will add a lot of organization to your setup, whether it's going to be an enclosed trailer, maybe in the shop, garage, basement, things like that.Let's get a few measurements just to help you to determine if this is going to be the right size hook for you or if you need to look for one of the other many options we have on our website. We'll start by getting the length from the face of our track out to the end. It's going to be about 8.5 inches. Our usable portion there, you can see it's going to be about 6.25 right there. The width on it, it's going to be about 9/16 of an inch and that's just under a half inch rise, so you're looking at about a 16th on each side there of that rubber dip coding. It gives real good grips so your items won't be sliding around near as much. It's very easy to take out. Throw it in one of your storage bins until you need it, you're ready to use it, then you pop it back out, clip it in place and you're ready to hang whatever you need.
