Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Pacer performance Hi-Five truck cab light kit. Now this is going to help you to either add some lights to the top of your truck, or maybe replace the old ones that got damaged or broken somewhere along the way. This is going to be styled after the 1999 through 2002 Dodge factory roof lights. And it has that traditional orange color.
These are also available in smoke and clear if you'd want to have a little change in the look of the lights. It doesn't change the functionality at all. It's still going to give you an amber light whenever it's actually illuminated, but it does give you a little different look, just sitting on the truck there. So it comes with everything you see laid out here on the table. We'll have our lights, the wiring, quick splice connectors to make our wiring connections, a switch, our bulbs, some rubber washers, and the screws to get our lights attached. So basically the way that you'll put this all together is to attach one of the bulbs into this little socket here.
And this kit is actually available with LEDs in addition to the incandescent bulbs. You can find that here at etrailer.com using part number PP20-244, and it's going to be the exact same kit. It just has LEDs in addition to everything else that you see laid out here. So I would suggest getting that kit just because LEDs are typically going to last longer, burn a little bit brighter, and use a little bit less power than the typical incandescent bulb. So to get this in place, I'm just matching up this socket with the housing here.
And this one actually isn't punched out all the way. So you might have to make some modifications to yours as it comes down. We'll try a different one.So not exactly the best look for these lights. I don't think it'd be too hard to cut that out with a razor knife. But once that's in place, you just give it kind of a quarter of a turn and then it locks into the slot there.
We'll connect the red wire to power, and our black wire will go to ground. Turn on my power source here. And you can see how bright that is. So turn out the lights in studio. You can see the look of the light. The idea with these is not necessarily to give you more visibility while you're out on the road. Rather, it's going to make you more visible or your vehicle more visible to other drivers while you're out on the road. So it gives you that big rig look, helps other drivers to see you as you're driving down the road, especially important in areas like if you're going through the mountains, going through fog, snow, rain, things like that, it makes you just a little bit more visible to other folks out there. So now disconnect this. And it does come with the switch so we can bypass our factory wiring. That's nice, especially if you have a newer truck that you're adding these to. A lot of times, if you hard splice into the wire or the factory wiring, it can void your warranty. So, that's something to keep in mind there. By having that switch, you'll be able to just run the lights away from or outside of your factory wiring. That being said, if you want to hard-wire into your factory lights, so you can just turn your Hi-Five cab lights on when your running lights come on, that's totally fine. A lot of people like that option, but just something to keep in mind there, if it is a newer truck, that you might run into some issues. It does come with a fuse to keep everything protected. And then a bulk wire to go between all five of our lights. On the end of our fuse and on the end of the bulk wire, there's two little spade connectors that go to the back of that switch. If you are hired wiring, this, you can, of course, just cut those off and wire everything directly where it needs to go. It comes with the hardware to actually mount the lights individually. And then we also get some rubber washers to help protect from any water getting into our cab underneath the head of those screws. If it we're me, I'd probably add a little bit of silicone sealant just to make sure that there's not any water getting in there. As far as the size of each of our lights, it's about five and three quarter inches long, or excuse me, five and five quarter inches. Five and five eights inches long by three and an eighth inch wide. And about one and three eighths inch tall. The distance between those two mounting holes is about one and three quarter inches apart. The bulb type that this uses is a 194 or T10 type bulb. You can switch those out for LEDs if you want to, or get that kit that I mentioned earlier. This is a universal fit. It does meet SAE specifications. And that's pretty much going to do it for our look at the Pacer Performance Hi-Five truck cab light kit. I hope this video has been helpful in making your decision on whether it's the right kit for you. Thanks for watching.

Purchased and installed the cab lights from etrailer.com. Shipped quickly, reasonably priced and a very easy installation. They look great on the truck. There some great write ups on the web explaining how to easily drop the headliner. Thanks etrailer.
The smoked lens look great! On my 2017 black 3500 RAM. Install took about 45 minutes. LED bulbs need to go the right way to work. Shipping was quick, and thanks to Jason and everyone at etrailer for making the ordering process easy.
After reading not so good reviews on other cab lights I found these and saw nothing but good things about them and when I had them installed I was more than happy with them. I would recommend to anyone wanting to put cab lights on their truck
The lights were purchased as replacement for the existing lights already on the truck, so all the hard work of drilling the holes and running the wiring was already done. What little installation I had to do was fairly easy, and simple. The lights match the originals exactly and you can't tell them apart from the old ones. The package was shipped promptly and arrived undamaged within a few days. Overall I'm extremely pleased with the order and I will be using your company for future purchases and I will definitely recommend your company to other people who need the type of things you supply.
Yay … THANK YOU JILL a Third time is a CHARM! … lol They are beautiful made in USA and exactly what I imagined for my 30 yr old truck. Unfortunately lights aren’t lining up with original overhead lights holes so I will have to move lights a tad closer towards the windshield…yes modifying time..woohoo should a fun modification and lovely new bright touch on this ole truck.
Haven’t installed yet wish me luck on this high boy.. lol
Asap I’ll share photos in future with etrailer Jill and team. Thanks you.
The Pacer Performance High-5 lights on my 1992 Ford F350 are high quality. They fit the original screw holes perfectly. The LED lights are bright. The wire connectors were different, but that was no problem. I cut off the connectors and used crimp-on connectors, then taped the connections securely with electrical tape.
Lights and everything arrived quickly, everything needed was in the packaging. The only thing I did differently was I wired the lights into my existing light switch instead of a separate switch, just bought 16 gauge wire from hardware store. I added some t10 LED lights which look awesome at night! During the day LED or incandescent bulbs are not very visible anyway. Overall awesome product!
One year on, these lights are holding up very well. Installation was pretty simple, I did have to break out a drill to enlarge the factory holes - I believe the factory lights used sheet metal screws to attach to the top of the cab through the lens and these use a metal stud attached to the light base with a nut that tightens from inside the cab (it's been a year and my memory is fuzzy). Outwards though these lights look completely stock. They sealed well and I've experienced no issues with water leaks. 100% suggest these to anyone wanting to replace or upgrade their stock lights to LED while retained the OE look.
The product was good quality. BUT! I replaced my lights because they are on a 1997 and the gasket are old. It would have been really nice if the old lamp sockets fit in the new lens cover and maybe a little guidance with rewiring for the LED. It was no big deal but it would have nice to notify of how to retrofit old to new tech! I got it done and works well.
Look good on the truck, one of the center lights became loose so it was not making great contact and therefore was out. I got it working again, but it was a hassle taking the light off the truck to just spin the light a little bit.
fairly quick shipping..my truck has never had lights...but have installed them on every truck I've owned ( 4 ), This is my 5th. Everything was in the box. It even came with little washers for the screw heads. I used silicone just in case. I was very skeptical of the supplied ground wires but they all worked!!.. I decided on the old style bulbs this time. Might switch if they don't last then I will go to the LED's. I used a different toggle switch than the one supplied. Really like the set so far. I have never seen a truck like mine with cab lights. Maybe others will try it now?
These are great lights, I’m very happy with them and they are a perfect match to my 95 Ram
I like the classic style of the light they look simular to the add on lights from the 70"s pretty easy install comes with everything and the price is fair .
The Reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is as far as I know there is no replacement parts available so if one goes out or lens breaks etc you need the whole kit that's why I bought this 2nd kit my first still works great I bought them maybe four years ago but I'm painting my truck and needed to take the old ones off but the price is pretty good to just buy a new set .
Cab lights turned out great shipping was fast only thing I wish it came with was a template but measuring them out wasn’t that difficult thanks again
Quality might be better than OE.
Excellent service!
Good set of lights , actually need another set. Very happy with them
