Reese Double Jaw

Secure, 2-Piece Jaw

Unlike the more economical slide-bar models, the rounded, 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Kwik-Slide Square-Tube Slider

Most often used on trucks with 6' beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.

Video Transcript for Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit - Universal - RP30035 Review

Today we'll be reviewing part number RP30035. This is the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches. It is going to be a 10 bolt design. The base rails are going to provide necessary attachment points for your 5th wheel trailer hitch. The universal brackets are designed so that they fit most applications, and then the adapter brackets can be used to ease installation on certain vehicles. The kit's going to include both rails, four brackets, two larger ones with more mounting options, and then the two smaller ones, and it's going to include all the hardware that you need, all the instructions, and the fish wire that you just thread onto the end of the bolt, and you can bring it through the appropriate hole as needed. It makes it a little bit easier to get the bolts in the right place. Some compatible hitches are going to be Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, Valley and Husky.

This does work with RBW Li'l Rocker Hitch Fifth Wheel Hitch. It will not fit the Reese Elite Series Signature Series or Valley UBS hitches. It's made from a nice solid steel construction with a nice black powder coated finish on it, so it is going to stand up well against rust and corrosion. That's going to do it for today's review of part number RP30035. This is the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches. .

The Reese fifth wheel rail kit part # RP30035-31 is a confirmed fit for your 2020 Ford F-150 short bed and would work great with the Reese fifth wheel hitch part # RP30047 and the Lippert Turning Point of your 2018 Grand Design Reflection 150 Series model 230RL. For your 2018 Ford F-150 with 6-1/2 foot bed the lightest set up is going to consist of Pro Series 16K hitch PS30094 with semi-custom installation kit # RP30035-31. The hitch weighs under 130 pounds and the install kit is under 62 pounds. However I do recommend going with hitch # RP30051 even though it is a little heavier and just under 148 pounds. The reason is that the 16K uses a slide-bar jaw which allows for a lot of movement of the trailer king pin in the hitch creating back and forth...

The auto-sliding hitch would have to travel a substantial distance to be able to safely make 90 degree turns without the truck cab and trailer coming into contact with each other. The auto-slider hitch with the most travel is the Demco HiJacker 13K # DM8550040 for above the bed rails. It has an astonishing 22-1/2 inches of travel. For an installation kit you will need # RP30035-31. It looks like the trailer you want to tow is under the 13K capacity of this hitch so no worries there. There...

If your Reese Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch like the Kwik-Slide # RP30051 is not locking in the maneuver position then I first just recommend making sure that the legs are mounted squarely in the base rails. Sometimes when a sliding hitch doesn't lock into position it's simply a matter of the legs being out of line so that the slider gets bound up.
