Can a 2018 Ford F-150 with 5-1/2 Foot Bed Tow a 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:
I’m looking to buy a 2018 Ford F-150 with the 3.5L 10 speed transition with max tow package and 18 inch wheels. It would be the 5.5 short bed with a auto slide back hitch. What are your thoughts on towing the attached fifth wheel?

The auto-sliding hitch would have to travel a substantial distance to be able to safely make 90 degree turns without the truck cab and trailer coming into contact with each other. The auto-slider hitch with the most travel is the Demco HiJacker 13K # DM8550040 for above the bed rails. It has an astonishing 22-1/2 inches of travel. For an installation kit you will need # RP30035-31.
It looks like the trailer you want to tow is under the 13K capacity of this hitch so no worries there.
There are no other slider hitches I would recommend for this application.
