Truck Bed Liner Trimming to Fit Fifth Wheel Rails

Today we're going to cover a frequently asked question on how to cut out a bed liner for a fifth wheel installation. It's pretty easy, we'll measure for our crossrails just like normal and then we'll go ahead and mark out our bed liner. Measuring from the edge of the bed of the truck, not the bed liner, but the edge of the bed and measure out. We'll go do one side, we'll go to the other side and make a mark as well. Now those will be the marks that'll align our first rail way. We'll make sure that our rail is even from left to right.

We'll just use the ribs in the bed liner to align it with and then we'll just draw a circle all the way around the rails. Then next we'll go ahead and use the legs of the fifth wheel hitch to place our second rail and now this will put our rail basically in the right stop and we'll just draw an outline around it as well and then the next step is go ahead and remove the parts for the fifth wheel and remove the bed liner and we can go ahead and cut out what we need. Before we make our cut outs we'll go ahead and support the bed liner up in the air a little bit with a couple pieces of timber. We'll go ahead and drill some pilot holes for a saw we're going to use to make the final cut out. So lets take our saw and we'll trace on the outside of our line and just cut it out.

Alright, and from this point we can go ahead with the fifth wheel install as normal.
