This hitch is rated for 25,000 lbs gross towing weight and 6,250 lbs vertical load limit, giving it the backbone to handle large fifth-wheel trailers with confidence. The heavy-duty steel construction and carbide powder coat finish keep it solid and durable over miles of towing. It’s the kind of hitch that feels planted and secure every time you hook up.
The interlocking 2-jaw system wraps completely around the king pin for full 360-degree jaw-to-pin contact. That tight fit cuts down on rattle and movement compared to slide-bar models, keeping things quieter and smoother on the road. The fully articulating torsion head with its spherical axial bearing helps absorb road shock and reduces chucking, so long hauls feel stable and controlled.
For tight maneuvering or backing into a site, the S25 slider gives you 12" of fore/aft travel to create extra clearance between your cab and trailer during slow turns. The design automatically latches in both directions, so you only need to step out once to move it into position. It’s made for safer, smoother low-speed turning without the binding or hang-ups common with other sliders.
With Curt’s color-coded system, you can tell at a glance whether you’re ready to couple, uncouple, or tow. Red means uncoupled, yellow means ready to couple, and green means locked in for towing. The indicator is visible from the cab, so you can confirm your connection without climbing in the bed. The handle also locks for added security when hitched.
When it’s time to clear your bed, the fast one-pin head removal makes it easy for one person to lift off the hitch head. Two built-in zerk fittings simplify lubrication for smooth operation over time, and the included plastic lube plate helps the king pin glide cleanly into place during hookup. It’s practical design that keeps setup simple trip after trip.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CURT Universal Carbide Black Finish Fifth Wheel Base Rails. Now, these base rails will install in your truck bed. And they provide the necessary attachment points for your fifth wheel hitch installation. Now, when these rails are used with the CURT's Custom Mounting Brackets, which we sell separate on a website, these rails will cut in half the time it takes to install your fifth wheel trailer hitch.
We mentioned the finish on this. I'm gonna zoom in and sort of show it. It's a carbide black finish, sort of like a matte black finish, so it matches the finish if you use it on the CURT Q5 20K Fifth Wheel Hitch. Now, these rails are universal, so they will work with the following fifth wheel hitches. They work with the CURT brand, the Draw-Tite, the Hidden Hitch, the Reese, and even the Husky.
This part here will include the two base rails. Now, we mentioned the mounting brackets, the custom mounting brackets, the hardware, and an installation kit is all sold separately. The length on these rails, if we put a tape measure on them from one end to the other, right at 43 inches long. One-year update: weve now put over five thousnad miles on our eleven-thousand pound fiver, and have had zero issues with the hitch. thats with numerous hitch-unhitch cycles, and a few long, steep grades to pull. The hitch works just as well as the day we installed it. The only shortcoming is its shear weight when lifting it out of the bed. Fortunately, the hitch proper lifts out of the spider mount by simply pulling one pin. That way, it can be removed in two pieces. Its still a two-person job, but is manageable. This hitch is amazing! I have hauled over 30 5th wheels the past year with this hitch ranging from 5k up to 20k. I have had no issues and just requires basic maintenance to ensure smooth hookup. The price has gone up on this since I purchased a year ago but if I was in the market for a 5th wheel plate for a new truck I would still purchase this exact setup and I would still use etrailer as the customer service is fantastic.

Update on my hitch. I am very please with this product. its been about a year since I purchase, towed my rig several times and the hitch works great. Coupling and uncoupling is very smooth. the hitch is very compact and takes a lot less room the others I have seen.I give this product a 5 star rating and Im very pleased.
