Features to know about
No Drilling: Custom Brackets Make Installation Easier
This kit takes the hassle out of installing your fifth-wheel hitch. The custom-fit brackets mount to existing holes in the frame, so you don’t need to drill into anything. They’re designed to avoid frame obstacles and cut down on installation time. With the brackets, base rails, and hardware all included, you get everything needed for a solid, clean install.
Works with a Range of Fifth-Wheel Hitches: Standard Rails Offer Flexibility
The included above-bed base rails use the industry-standard pattern, giving you the freedom to pair them with popular hitches from Demco, B&W, Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, Reese, and Valley. That means you can keep using an existing hitch or switch brands later without having to change your rail setup.
Durable Construction for Long-Term Use
Built from sturdy steel with a black powder coat finish, the rails and brackets are made to resist corrosion and stand up to regular towing use. This gives you a reliable foundation for your hitch that stays strong over time.

See what our Experts say about this Demco 5th Wheel Hitch Rails
You can absolutely use the 18,000 lb Demco Hijacker Autoslide with the underbed rails on your 2002 Ford F-250 crew cab. What you need are the following:
- Underbed Rail and Installation Kit for Demco Hijacker # DM8551000
- Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider - 18,000 lbs # DM8550022
As you mentioned, this is also compatible with the 21,000 lb version of the Hijacker # DM8550037. Additionally, if your '02 F-250 has the factory 7-way but you need a 5th wheel wiring... view full answer...
While we do not have a video of the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit # DM8552006-71 being installed on your 2001 Ford F-250 we do have a video of a similar Reese Kit # RP30035 being installed that I have linked below on a 2002 F-250. Both these kits use universal brackets that will require drilling into your trucks frame to install the rails. And since they both have the industry standard rail pattern they will allow for the same 5th wheel hitches... view full answer...
My first choice for a 5th wheel hitch system, in a 5.5 foot pickup bed, where weight is a concern, would be the B&W # BWRVK3200 Fixed 5th Wheel hitch and # BW39FR Base rails, paired with a Reese # RP61422 5th Airborne Air Ride with Sidewinder. This assumes you have a number 1621 pin box bolt pattern. (If the four digit bolt pattern number is different let me know and I can pick one that will match with your pin box side wings.) The hitch base weighs 95 pounds and the top coupler section... view full answer...
Yes, that does provide enough information. From a quick online search, it shows that your 2008 Keystone Cougar 276RLS is well under 18K, for this, I recommend the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch. You have two options, my recommendation, is to install with the below bed rails, using hitch # DM8550022 and rail installation kit, # DM8551000. The benefit of the below bed kit is a rail-free design that allows for full access to truck bed when hitch is removed.
Or the second... view full answer...
Yes, you can tow a fifth wheel trailer with your 2004 F-350 short bed. The short bed of your truck is 6-3/4 feet long which mean you'll want either a sliding fifth wheel hitch in your truck or a Sidewinder or Revolution pin box on the trailer to make sure you have adequate clearance between the truck and trailer when making sharp turns. This is because the truck's short bed will not always provide enough space between the truck cab and trailer and they can make contact.
A Sidewinder... view full answer...
If you are wanting to maintain the use of your B&W Patriot hitch while getting a custom set of installation rails then you will not be able to use B&W rails. The only B&W rails that work for your 1999 Ford F350 are universal rails.
You can use a set as rails such as the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Hitches # DM8552006-71. These rails are custom fit for you truck so there is no drilling required. They are made in the USA and... view full answer...
Yes, the Demco Recon 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Single Jaw - Above Bed - 21,000 lbs, # DM8550043 will mount in your 2003 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty. You will need the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Hitches, # DM8552006-71 if you do not already have bed rails that match. view full answer...
We do indeed have an auto sliding 5th wheel hitch.
The Demco Hijacker Autoslide is available in an 18K capacity as # DM8550022 or in a 21K capacity as part # DM8550037. Both hitches install using Demco's under-bed rail kit, part # DM8551000.
For a Hijacker Autoslide that mounts to industry standard rails that install on the surface of the truck bed, use # DM8550034 for the 18K or # DM8550035 for the 21K model. These hitches would use the # DM8552006-71 bracket/rail kit.

We definitely have the rails you need to mount your Demco Hijacker FHW 24 in the bed of your 2003 Ford F-350 Super Duty, but I'm unsure of the base style you have, so you'll need to compare your base and choose from the following:
- Above-Bed Base Rails # DM8552006-71
- Underbed Rails # DM8551000
- SL Series Rails, Parts # DM6012 and # DM8553003
If you aren't sure which is the correct rails please just shoot me a photo of the base connection and I'll be happy to clarify which one you... view full answer...
For your above-bed Demco fifth-wheel hitch, you just need the standard above-bed rails. I recommend the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit # DM8552006-71. The installation kit comes with all hardware required for a drill-free installation on your 2004 Ford F-250 (6-3/4 ft. bed). view full answer...
The Demco Hijacker Premier Series part # DM6076P-21K does require a set of industry standard fifth wheel rails installed in the bed of the truck. If you have a Hijacker hitch already this will fit the same rails you have now but if you are looking for a set that fits your 1999 Ford F-250 you'd want the part # DM8552006-71. view full answer...
The best option for you to increase the clearance needed to make turns with your 2002 Ford F-350 short bed truck would be to upgrade to a slider hitch that has a longer travel length.
The Demco Hijacker Autoslide Hitch, # DM8550034 with # DM8552006-71 Custom Installation Kit, is a 5th wheel hitch that has an auto slide design that will give you 14 inches of additional clearance for making tight turns. The Demco hitch is an Autoslide hitch that automatically engages when make your turns.... view full answer...
