Question:

I have a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Premium with a Curt C12184 hitch my mother in law got me. What hitch should I get to haul a UHaul trailer I believe it is a 18-19 tongue height according to the UHaul place... I would rather give you great folks the business

Yes, the U-Haul couplers sit at about 18", and from the ground to the inside top of the receiver for the Curt # C12184 on a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is 15". That means you’ll need a 3" rise.

I recommend our etrailer Ball Mount w/ Pre-Torqued 2" Ball - 2" Hitch - 4" Drop - 7,500 lbs # e77DR. When inverted, it provides a 2 3/4" rise. You will likely need a shop to remove the ball, flip it, and torque it to 250 ft-lbs, most people don’t have a wrench that can handle that level of torque.

@Dave Well then Dave, it will be a bittersweet move. I am not looking forward to my son taking off to college next year, but I guess we need to let them go spread their wings.
