How to Pick out the Correct Dust Cap Size for a Trailer
Updated 06/30/2025 | Published 06/18/2014 >
Question:
My 2014 Haul-Master 600 lb, boat trailer, item # 5002, came without dust caps. The Bearing Buddies at 2.047 in dia are just a bit too large to fit without doing a little machining. Ive also tried 2 in dia caps and theyre a bit too small. I need a source for the correct dust caps.

The Bearing Buddy part # BB2047 is supposed to be a snug fit. If a 2 inch diameter cap is too small the # BB2047 should be the right fit. But without knowing what the diameter of the hub bore its hard to say that definitively. I would recommend you use a micrometer to determine the bore and go from there.
I attached a page that has all of the grease caps we offer.
