Question:
I have a 2017 RAV4 Hybrid and I plan on buying the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2, Part Number: 306-X7219. I’m trying to decide between the: Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, Part Number: C56350 and the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, Part Number: 118578. I’d like to mount it with brackets as well but I’m not sure how that would work with the hidden crosstube. I saw that brackets: C57202 and C42CR are recommended: will I need to cut more of the fascia from the bumper to install these? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Shannon! I'll start by confirming that the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch item # 306-X7219 will fit the 2017 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid.
Out of those two wiring harnesses, I recommend going with the Curt item # C56350 over the Tekonsha item # 118578 because of reliability. This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your Toyota's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area. It will provide you with a 4-way connector.
The Curt item # C42CR and item # C57202 are not going to be the best way to attach the 4-way wiring harness due to the exact concerns you expressed. Instead, you will want to use the Curt Easy Mount Bracket for 4- Way Flat Trailer Connector item # C58001. This bracket mounts directly to the 2" receiver on the EcoHitch item # 306-X7219 and puts the 4-way connector right next to it above the safety chain loop.
I have linked some installation and review videos below so you can see how to get these parts set up.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a ball mount kit item # C45534.
