Trailer Hitch Receiver Needed For A 2024 Tesla Model 3

Question:

Hello, I had a 2021 Tesla model 3 on which I had installed a Curt 13449. I am replacing this car by a 2024 model 3 AWD Lr and I intend to take it off the 2021 and installed in on the 2024. Searching on your website, this product is not listed for 2024 model year. Do you know if it will fit my 2024? I know Tesla has been actively trying to prevent people for installing such hitch and that might be why its no longer listed. But in my case, I dont intend to pull a trailer, its just for my bike rack. Thank you for letting my know.

Hi Yves,

There likely was a change between those model years that prevents the Curt hitch from fitting, but it could just also be that Curt hasn't been able to physically test the fit yet on that year and model. We unfortunately haven't either so the only option we can currently recommend is the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # 391TES317. This would come with removable receiver tube that you could mount your bike rack to. The receiver tube has a 2" opening, which the most common sizing for hitch mounted accessories and has a 350lb tongue weight capacity.

If you ever do end up needing to tow a trailer then you'll need to pick up their matching towing kit # 391CONVB7 for the ball mount and wiring. This would have a 3,500lb towing capacity, but you'd still need to refer to your owner's manual for the vehicle's capacity.
