Can 12k Axle Be Converted from Electric Over Hydraulic to Electric

Question:
Can you replace electric over hydraulic with straight electric brakes. It has 12k axles but I do not know the brand axle it’s on a southwest trailer.

Yes it definitely is possible to replace the electric over hydraulic brake setup on your trailer with electric brakes. The 12k axles are a little more particular than the lower capacity axles so you will need to know what brand axles you have. As long as they are Dexter or Lippert you can use the brake assembly set part # # AKEBRK-12 to replace the assemblies you have now. These will fit in the same drums your axle has currently.
