Difference Between Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE and RV Rider for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
Question:
Looking to purchase a bike rack and have a couple of questions about model Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2 Hitches - Frame Mount Item # HLY84FR website indicates not suitable for a 5th wheel. Why is that? And model Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2 Hitches - Frame Mount Item # HLY64FR. Wheel base is max 60. Do you know how that is measured? I have two lectric bikes both measuring 67 from outside tire to outside tire.

The different ratings for bike racks when it comes to if they can be used with trailers and/or motorhomes comes directly from the manufacturer and has to do with their testing and whether or not they believe the bike rack can safely handle the extra movement at the back of the trailer/motorhome. In this case Hollywood Racks says the Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR can't handle it while the RV Rider # HLY64FR can so I'd go with the RV Rider.
Wheelbase is measured from the center of the front axle to the center of the rear axle so if you're measuring 67" on the outsides of your tires your bikes will fit on the RV Rider just fine. Please note that some bikes have different frame designs that the clamps might not be able to fit around. If this is the case for your Lectric bikes you'll need to use an adapter bar like part # HRBA-PRO so the clamps have something to grab hold of.
