I keep hearing conflicting reports if this unit will fit my trunk due to the spoiler. Looking for tips from the experts and if the issue is the spoiler, is there any work-arounds for it to make it possible?

Yes, I confirmed with Thule that the Passage Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH910XT will fit your 2012 Dodge Charger with a rear spoiler. I went ahead and attached a photo of an Infiniti G35 with the Thule Passage 2 that has a similar spoiler as yours.

If you want to add extra theft-deterrence to the Passage 2, I recommend the Thule Passive Security Strap # TH533 and the etrailer cable lock # e98891. Both of these accessories will protect both your bikes and the rack itself. Also, if you are planning on transporting bikes that are women's-style frames, kid's bike frames, or step-thru frames, you will need the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar # 64005. The Swagman bike adapter bar will give your bike a straight, horizontal plane that is required to mount onto the Passage 2.
