Actuator/Coupler Replacement for 85841 on Sea Ray Boat Trailer

Question:
So I have a 24foot Sea Ray trailer made by Roadrunner of Texas who is no longer in business. I have the 85841 master cylinder on it and hasnt worked since my purchase of the boat 10 years ago. Obviously I cant find one, well someone on Ebay has one for $400 which I may have to do. But everything I see about this master cylinder says drum brakes. My trailer has a tandem axle with disc on the rear axle only. Is it the right one? And I was looking at the complete units with the ball socket too, however my unit is welded onto the actual trailer and would need to be cut out and rewelded. Will any of your complete units work for this? 2inch ball.

Expert Reply:
Since your trailer has disc brake it will be very important that you pick out a actuator/coupler that is rated for that and not drum brakes as that is a lower pressure rating that won't work well. The 85841 is no longer made so it would be tough to find so I would recommend going with a new coupler setup like the # DM62VR which you could bolt onto your frame once you cut off the older welded on model. If you wanted to weld this in place of what you have you certainly could do that as well.
