This 16" x 6" Dexstar Steel Mini Mod trailer wheel is built for serious hauling. Fitment doesn’t get much easier. The wheel uses the common 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern and a 4.9" pilot diameter, pairing cleanly with standard trailer hubs that match those specs. It’s lug centric, so use standard trailer lug nuts like the CE Smith # CE11051 for secure mounting and even clamping force.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Dexstar 16-inch by 6-inch black modular steel trailer wheel with the eight on 6-1/2-inch bolt pattern. Now this wheel is a sturdy steel construction. It is the modular design, and when we say modular design, that's the one that has the round holes all the way around the wheel. This wheel has excellent corrosion resistance 'cause they use a two-step finishing process, which will include first an E-coat primer, and then a black powder coat finish over it. This is a high-quality wheel, does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications.
Now if you notice, this wheel does not come with a center cap. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. You do wanna make sure to get a center cap that has the same diameter as this pilot hole. 'cause when you install your center cap, it'll go through this hole. The diameter on this pilot hole is 4.9-inches.
This wheel is made in the USA. I do wanna give you a few measurements. We're gonna measure the diameter, which is measured inside the inside this way, and in the width of the wheel. And when we measure the diameter, I mentioned it's measured from bead seat to bead seat, so that's inside to inside. So again, we'll put a tape measure on that.
You can see there's your 16-inch diameter. The width is gonna be the same way. It's bead seat to bead seat. So inside to inside right at 6-inches wide. And we mentioned the width bolt pattern on this wheel is a eight on 6-1/2-inch bolt pattern.
And if you wanna measure that on a wheel, that's an even number of lugs. Like in this case, eight. It's pretty easy because if you look at the lug holes, they're directly across from each other. So all you have to do is pick one of the holes. Let's say we pick this one, and then you measure across from the center of this hole directly across to the center of the hole. Right across from it. On this wheel, it'll measure 6-1/2-inches. So it's an eight lug, 6-1/2-inch bolt pattern. Does use a wheel lug size of either 1/2-inch by 20 or 9/16 by 18. And the weight capacity on this wheel is 3,750 pounds. But that's gonna do it for a look at this Dexstar 16-inch by 6-inch black modular steel trailer wheel with the eight on 6-1/2-inch bolt pattern.

The wheel looks great, no issues with paint, or any imperfections. Take note though these do not ship with valve stems, which was an extra expense to get added on to them when the tire shop was getting the set up.
I shopped around my area and was unable to find good quality rims for my car hauling trailer. These steel wheels were affordable and great for their price. So good I got 2 for an extra spare

Products are what they are....cheap...black...steel....rims. My only complaint is the packaging. If they are going to be placed loosely in cardboard boxes, my opinion is that they should have an edge protector on the edges. Mine are scuffed up and dinged up...down to metal. Granted, they are going on a stock trailer and will be hammered on the rest of their lives....I still spent over $xxx to buy 6 of them and would expect them to start life at least decently perfect. Other than that, they are great. I will get them mounted this week. I'm sure the knuckleheads that mount them will end up beating them up worse than they are as well. For this....4 stars out of 5.

Perfect replacement for the OEM aluminum wheels. One of my rims were damaged and I couldn’t find an exact match. Instead of buying four expensive rims I opted for the steal and dolled them up with chrome trim.
E trailer never fails! Quick shipping and a great product. E trailer has even improved the packaging for these wheels so they cannot shift around in the sturdy box since I bought wheels last year. Customer for life!
Good product at a good price.
Just purchased a new trailer and it came with no spare tire. The tire shops only had white or grey wheels. Quick google search and etrailer saved the day. The wheel arrived in a couple of days as promised and looks much better than the paint job I would have had to put on the tire shops wheel.

I've had this rim on for exactly one year with no issues on my 14k big tex dump trailer.
Looks good, seems sturdy.
It was used as spare tire and it fits perfectly. But I got a notice on my trailer tire, but there was a recall on all the ones that were made in China my tires were not made in China but in Taiwan. I couldn’t get them to check your tire to see if it was in the recall or not. It was made in China. Can you check to see if this tire is in recall or not? Thanks for checking back with me!

Excellent new rim. Fit my trailer tire perfectly and provides peace of mind should I experience problems on the road. I know this rim is more than enough for my axle.
Awesome replacement, it helped having the little decal so I could match up original rim. Pulling into my property hit a stump that was hidden in the grass and folded the rim where the bead seats. You guys had the exact replacement, now I’m back having a spare.

Only place online I know of to get black 8 lug steel wheels. Put 5 of these on my all black dump trailer with brand new chrome lug nuts and they look NASTY!
They are also rated for the heavy weight I need unlike some other knock offs out there.
Long time Etrailer customer here and they have so much selection compared to anyone else they keep sucking me back in!
I have to say average as I just got them and you are asking for a review. How can anyone give a review of a product such as wheels on the day they are received? Only thing I do know is that do not believe this company when they say they will be delivered the next day. They were a day and 1/2 late from the promised date. POOR customer service.
