Reese Towpower Pod Brake Controller Not Lighting Up And Working
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
I have a Reese towpower pod installed on my 2015 ram 1500. For the past year it’s worked fine, but now the trailer connected light doesn’t come on, and the manulal gain on the controller doesn’t works. The only time I get any light on the controller is when I hit the trucks brake only then does the controller have a red light that comes on. Everything looks good trailer side. Any help would be greatly appreciated

It sounds to me like your brake controller may need to be replaced or that you have a damaged wire or pin in the wiring harness. I recommend checking the pins and wire to ensure no damage or lose connections and using some Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors, 2 oz. Item # 11755 on the pins.
If checking all the wiring and pins doesn't fix your issue then I recommend replacing the brake controller with the Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # 39510 with the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Ram # 3024-P. This brake controller activates the trailer brakes in proportion to your vehicle's braking action. It automatically adjusts trailer's braking based on deceleration of tow vehicle and activates immediately with no pausing unlike with time-delayed brake controllers.
